I am writing you today from my daughters home in Utah! I flew up yesterday to help her pack to move to Georgia. I will also drive with her across the country to her new home with 4 of our grand kids. What an adventure, right?
In the meantime I will be posting pictures of our trip and adventure on Instagram and my Facebook Page. I hope you will follow along with me. I am hoping to post a lot of pictures of this beautiful country so it will be fun to have you on the trip with me as you follow. The hashtag is: #travelingwithmeegan
Okay, NOW onto the real reason you are here. This recipe is another family fave.
I’ve got the Monday Blues for Paint Palette colors. And I am happy to share them with you today. It’s always enjoyable to browse through paint stores and aisles at the various colors of paint. It’s probably one of my fave things to do, besides holding the grandbabies or to hold Hubby’s hand.
I think there are probably guidelines and interior design rules of how many colors you should/could have in your home. And, if you know me at all, you KNOW I don’t like perfect things. I like rustic, worn, and chippy, so I guess I don’t follow the interior design rules. And I am JUST fine with that.
Why? Well, because I am comfortable in my home, and if more than 3 colors make me smile, then that’s what I am going to use. To me it’s all about being comfortable in your home. Don’t you think so, too?
I share my makeovers and ideas with you all the time. I thought it would be fun to show you the color palette for our home along with various pieces of furniture and accessories.
4. Hint of Olive is from Clark and Kensington at Ace Hardware is on a wall in our TV Room/Office.
5. Snow Cap White is used it to is painted in every room in our home.
8. Another color I use quite often is: Turquoise Mist by Olympic Paint I have painted several pieces of furniture and accessories using this color.
Often times I mix any one of these colors with white to bring a whole new level of color into our home. It adds dimension and depth that way.
Turquoise Mist has a special place in my heart. It is the first can of paint I bought to start transforming our home into a lighter, brighter place to live. We when moved in our condo, here, everything we owned was dark green, bright red, gold, and even touches of purple. It was awesome at the time we purchased it, but it was time for me to move on.
These are the colors that make me smile. They calm my spirit. They work perfectly in our home.
What colors are your favorite? What color calms YOUR soul??
Thanks for joining me today while I’ve got the Monday Blues for paint palette.
Make it a blue Monday!

Happy Saturday everyone!! It’s a great day isn’t it??? The sun is warm and shining here today. There is still a cool breeze, but the sun feels oh, so good!
Yesterday I told you all about the Pinterest Party with Michaels and Hometalk. Fun times! I mentioned the water bottles that I made for each party attendee. Welp, today I am going to tell HOW I made those Book Page Labeled and Embellished Water Bottles. How fun is that??
I bought 24 water bottles and took each label off. There was still a little sticky glue on it, but that was okay. Because I was going to hide it.
Using a vintage dictionary from the thrift store, I cut 24 strips of 2 1/2 inch wide strips.
With scotch tape I taped the “label” to the bottle. I then wrapped the paper around the bottle sealing it closed with another piece of tape. I like using the non-glare tape because you don’t see it.
Once I had my “labels” on I was ready to embellish the bottles even more. I had some ribbon, lace and bakers twine in all the colors I wanted to use. It was fun to see each bottle take on a new personality with such a small amount of work.
When I handed these book page labeled water bottles out at the Pinterest Party, I got so many compliments. Each person wanted to know how I made them.
Such a big impact, for any occasion. You could use scrapbook paper, old magazines, or wrapping paper for any theme you need. These would be perfect at a vintage themed baby shower, briday shower, even a bunco party. You name it, they work.
For the Pinterest Party, I used tiny clothes pins embellished with ribbon and/or paper roses found in the dollar section at Michaels. I painted the clothes pins with turquoise craft paint. Then I clipped my business card to the ribbon or string.
How easy peasy is that?? What ideas can you come up with for your own book page labeled water bottles??
Thanks for joining me today! I had fun sharing this innovative and easy way to spice up your next gathering.
Make it a super Saturday!!

Time for another Field Trip Friday! This time I am sharing my Michaels HomeTalk Pinterest Party-which was SO exciting and FUN! I love sharing my Field Trip Friday Michaels Hometalk Pinterest Party with you today.
The Pinterest Party was on Feb 16th, in Henderson, NV. I had been planning for weeks for this day. I was really excited and nknew my party attendees would be too.
Okay let’s get started on the Field Trip… The Michaels classroom was set up with different ideas and crafts to get your creative juices flowing. There was everything from burlap, to chalkboard ideas, to mod podge and stenciling available for anyone to try.
I brought my own treats for the party goers. I filled vintage jars with candy and tied each of them with vintage rick rack and poms. I also brought water bottles that I modified to fit the party. Complete with my business card!! (A tutorial for those is coming next week)
The staff at Michaels could NOT have been nicer or more accommidating. From left to right: Jennisha, Melissa, Christain (Asst Manager), and me. Christain made public announcements about the party every 15 minutes in hopes to bring customers in the classroom. (We now follow each other on Pinterest)
We had this table set up right in front of the store with my Spring Inspired Fleur Pot and the Chalkboard Labeled Bathroom Bottles along with cards and invitations to join Hometalk and enter to with $100 Michaels gift card.
Jennisha and Melissa were amazing! Jennisha would help customers find what they needed to make their Pinterest Party projects. Melissa stopped people on their way into the store to tell them about Hometalk and invite them to the Pinterest Party.
These is the first 2 guests to our party. They were so sweet. They didn’t stay to craft, but they had a ton of questions for me. They are planning a baby shower. I helped them with choosing colors, to making labels for the candy bar, to what type of glitter to use, and how to emboss. It was really fun to get to know them.
There were at lesast 25 people that walked through the classroom browsing and asking craft questions. I talked to each one sharing the Pinterest Party ideas. We talked about what Gesso is, how to make jewelry, how to write on a chalkboard, what should you buy to fill a brand-new craft room with, bakers twine, etc… It great to hear their ideas and creativity.
Below is a collage from the highlights of the day.
These are my cute friends that came to support me. Yep, even HE made a craft. They each opted to make a bathroom container out of a flower pot for q-tips and cotton balls, using craft paint and gold leaf.
This is Jerica. She was SO great! She came to the party with a bag full of her own Pinterest pin ideas and evrything she needed to start a craft. She shopped the store and came back with an arm full of items for her project. She made her own 3-D K that she is going to decoupage labels on for her boyfriend. She was the life of the party and a pleasure to get to know.
This cutie bought a journal and decorated it with pre-made flowers and stenciling. SO cute!!
This is the regional manager, Denise. She was there observing and after watching us for a little she was inspired to craft something for her home.
Denise was very accommidating and we had a great time crafting together.
All in all it was a wonderful day filled with new friends, creative juices, laughing, and new ideas. Most of all Pinterest worthy projects.
Thanks Michaels and Hometalk for giving me an opportunity to be a part of such a fabulous event! It was my dream as a blogger to be one of “those” bloggers. And I was able to achieve that goal at the Pinterest Party.
Thanks for joining me for Field Trip Friday, Michaels Hometalk Pinterest Party. It was a blast and a dream come true!
