First off, Happy Veteran’s Day!!
Yay!! It’s Monday!! After a week of resting, washing 24 table cloths, and 100 chair covers, and trying to get our house back in order from our son’s wedding, I have “The Monday Blues“. But, I LOVE the blues-so it’s all good!!
This week Grace from Kitchen Table Art sent me another one of her favorite blues.
As you can see, Grace is an artist. This is a portion of her interpretation of this kitchen table:
“The many elements of this piece create a push and pull between integrity and hypocrisy of furniture. Playing with the classic designs and pieces that are universally recognizable juxtaposed with materials that do not stay true to the pieces intended function. Similar to Bruce Naumans Untitled stairway I am interested in “subverting the function”. By undermining the materials and sabotaging the function this once reliable table has been instantly rendered useless making the viewer more aware of the functions and integrity of the mundane objects that surround us daily. ”
I thought it was a fascinating piece and wanted to share it with you. Grace, herself was a little skeptical of having me post it-but, I thought, why not??
Next we have a blue room from Barbara over at The World According To Barbara. Can you say LOVE??
Barbara said, “This is my living room and I LOVE having blue walls. Over the past 13 years, I have painted these walls several times, but no matter what color I paint in there , there’s always some shade of blue!” She has had a love for dressers in the living room-long before others found it a fun trend.
As for “My Monday Blues” today, I am choosing:
My bedroom vanity area. I LOVE this blue. This furniture was my grandparents all throughout their marriage. I was blessed enough to receive it after they passed on. I painted it blue before I even started a blog. The color is Olympic Turquoise Mist. The drawers are Antique White.
I love our bedroom vanity area. I LOVE this blue. I chose this blue today because I have SO many visions of how I want to decorate this portion of our home for Christmas. Seriously the creative juices won’t stop!! Since this picture was taken my friend Judi gave me a new chandy along with the candelabra then Hubby hung the mirror for me, and now it is up to me to get this area ready for Christmas. Yay!!! Gotta love the blues!!
I hope you have enjoyed just a small portion of “The Monday Blues” with me today!! I hope this week you will send me your blues, so I can share them here with my blues!!
Follow me on Pinterest, Facebook, Hometalk, Google +, and Stumble Upon. You will see how much I love blue!!
Make it a blue Monday!!
