I love Spring, don’t you? I love that we celebrate Easter, fresh blossoms, clear air, warmer days and Mother’s day. Mother’s day is filled with many memories as a child, as a mom, and as a grandmother for me. That is why I thought it would be fun to make a Mothers Day Free Printable to celebrate the day.
Whether you have a mother, or someone who is like a mother to you-this is a wonderful gift.
I am very blessed in my life to a giving and loving mom., grandmas, and aunts. Each unique and giving in their own way.
I have two aunts that specially impacted my life for good. One was Aunt Betty. She taught me how to crochet, make a cake, and how to laugh. She let me hold her baby girl, whom I was 10 years older. She taught me how to change her cloth diaper, swim, and how to love. Next was Aunt Melba. She loved me like I was one of her children, She picked me up every week for church. She taught me how to wash dishes, to hang clothes on the clothes line and how to make apple pie. I loved hearing her hum hymns as she washed the dishes. Yep, her nick name for me was “Sugar Booger”. Funny and endearing at the same time.
I was lucky enough to have amazing grandmas. Grandma Ida and Grandma Inez. Grandma Ida was filled with happiness. She loved to sew her clothes and grandpa’s shirts. She cooked endless meals, decorated for Christmas, baked to best sugar cookies, raised turtles and geese, crocheted EVERYTHING, and called me “Sugar Pie”. I LOVED spending the night at her house and having cookies for breakfast. Grandma Inez was a WWI widow. She had been since before I was born. She was on crutches for as long as I can remember (because of arthritis in her hip). She would tell me stories of her life with all brothers. Her mom was an Osage Indian. She grew up in Texas, and lived with her 3 sons at various times in her life. She taught me how to love others, tell jokes and to enjoy cousins. She made the best marshmallow frosting.

And my mom..My mom. My mom has taught me how to forgive, love others, create a loving home and to honor your elders. She has given me the foundation of a good, healthy life, so that I could carry that feeling in my own home as an adult. My mom has lived through adversity, and come out stronger. She taught me how to look your best no matter where you are going. She lived what she taught-through laughter, kindness, a giving heart, and a kind spirit. I am very blessed to have her in my life. I love sharing my life with her and her listening ear. She means the world to me.
I am grateful for this time of year to celebrate many things, especially mothers with a Mothers Day Free Printable.
Thanks for joining me today. It was a treat to share the reason I love Mothers Day with you.
Have a wonderful day.
