Spring Inspired Shelf

March 25, 2014 By Meegan 21 Comments

Happy Tuesday!  I am REALLY excited to share my Spring Inspired Shelf today.

I am inspired  by other bloggers such as: Craftberry Bush, Dreamy Whites, and Laughing with Angels.  I love their photography, their vision and taste.

After browsing through their blogs and using my own components and creativity, I worked to make my Spring Inspired Shelf my very own.

I am constantly looking at my Spring inspired shelf.  There is so much to see.

Each angle brings a whole new perspective.  The stick with the nest is a real hummingbird’s nest.

Stacking my tea cups and saucers on my wooden pedestal adds depth and height.  Love the marking and detail on the wood, don’t you?  Moss also gives a feel of refreshed life.

My bird and moss filled terracotta pot has not been aged by me in anyway, other than using it year after year.  The cracks and the patina add to the character of the whole shelf look.

Oh, I really like the bird house.  I like the dark, weathered wood and a little bit more moss.  Did you see the bird feathers???

Another pot I have had for years.  No need to prime or age it myself.  The flowers are real. Don’t they look great with moss surrounding them?   (I will share my secret with you later this week on how I did this)

Above the shelf hang a small portion of my tea cup and saucer collection.  The red cups were hand made and painted by my Grandma.  The cup with painted flowers hanging lowest on the left was also made by her.  Again, I love the look of fresh green moss for a Spring look.

Did you see the real birds nest in the highest cup?  It’s a hummbird’s nest.  So sweet.

The saucers were both thrift finds.  Aren’t they so pretty?

Here is a closer look at the tea cups.  Grandma would smile about this look.  She would probably say, “Well, would you look at that Sugar-pie.”

The creamer has a fresh rose and leaves to fill it.

I used one of my vintage bottles as a vase and to add height.  Going with the moss theme, I thought it would look good with a little in the vase as well.  To keep my flowers fresh, I use these tips.

Spring has sprung in our home over the last week.  The leaves are popping out of the branches.  The grass looks even greener.  And my Spring inspired shelf is set for the season.

I am so happy to have you stop by during your busy life to visit my blog.  I read every comment.  They always make me smile.

Make it a terrific Tuesday.

I found a hummingbird nest a couple of years ago and was so excited until my grandson accidentally demolished it!

I have to totally agree with you about the different angles! In each picture I saw something that I didn’t see in the previous one. And I simply love it! You did a great job!

    Pinning!

The shelf is beautiful! I saw the bird inside the terra cotta pot (gasp) I love the sweetness of that. I hope you think imitation is the best form of flattery. I have a small collection of ceramic birds and am already picturing a little nest in a pot waiting for me in my garage. You have a special touch with everything you do.
