How To Decorate A Vintage Style Christmas Tree

Welcome to all of my new visitors today! I have been decorating a Christmas tree every year since I was about 15 or 16 year old. I have learned many tips on How To Decorate A Vintage Style Christmas Tree. I thought this is the perfect opportunity to teach you what I have learned.

So let’s get started on How To Decorate A Vintage Style Christmas Tree…

One of my favorite ways to decorate a vintage style Christmas tree is with black and white photographs. It is a memorable way to add loved ones to celebrate Christmas with you and your family.

 

 

All of the other ornaments are white, gold or silver for a cohesive look.

For a vintage vibe, add tea cups to your Christmas tree. Surround them with ornaments, feathers and crystals. It has a unique look without being over-the-top.

When you have a small area, but want to set up a Christmas tree, use a vintage olive bucket as a tree “holder”.  You can find them in antique shops, barn sales and even craft shops.

Place your small tree in your olive oil bucket, and string the lights from the bottom of the bucket, up, all around your tree. Fill in the tree with pine cones, floral picks and sticks. This adds, dimension, texture and a Christmas feeling without using too much space. You can see that my tree is on a night stand. The lights coming through the bucket slits is my fave.

This Christmas olive bucket was created the following year.

A fun way to add a vintage style to your Christmas tree, gather toys, a sleigh or sled near the tree. I also like to add Christmas books. The kiddos that visit your home can play with the toys and read the books. Another way to create fun family memories to last a lifetime.

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE book page crafts. For this Christmas tree, I made tiny book page cones and a banner. Probably one of my fave trees to date.

For a small tree idea, use a barn wood box as a base. I am lucky enough to have a three from a wedding I decorated. I use them all year long, but during the Holidays one is always filled with s tiny tree.

For a whimsical or French look.. put a Christmas tree in a painted terracotta pot. I used white craft paint and a sharpie marker to create a one-of-a-kind flower pot. Perfect for a tiny tree.
