Top Ten Ideas for a Cottage Style Home

December 29, 2020 By Meegan 3 Comments

Living in a cottage apartment I am always looking for new ways to create a warm and inviting space. I will be sharing my own Top Ten Ideas for a Cottage Style Home today.

With each tip and trick will help you design and style a cottage style home. You will find everything from thrifted finds, homemade art, vintage pieces and a few crafts to establish a cottage style home of your own.

Let’s start with one of my own all-time favorite projects…

Design Vintage Art with Blueprints from Your Own Home.

Layout a Thrifted Mirror Gallery Wall painted with homemade chalk paint.

Spend time making crafts and using what you have to create a lovely ambiance. Crystals and driftwood are often found in a cottage home.

With a piece of driftwood and real crystals make a beautiful suncatcher.

Construct a Boho style flower pot using a terra-cotta pot, lace and a vintage brooch.

Don’t forget to use thrifted furniture to add to the eclectic atmosphere to your cottage style home, too.

With just 2 ounces of craft paint transform a inexpensive thrifted table.

Learn how to adjust floating shelves to fit on a narrow wall.

With dollar store reindeer moss and Styrofoam, craft candle holders for any holiday, event or just for fun.

As you find unique pieces for interest, they can also become even as conversation pieces, too.

In just a few easy steps you can arrange a vintage typewriter with succulents for a unique garden feature or centerpiece.

It’s fun to Create a Lavender and White Fall Tablescape with thrifted finds, pumpkins and lavender plants.

Welcome your family, friends and neighbors with a glittery wreath made from an embroidery hoop.

What’s fun about these tips and tricks can be used in a rental, as well. Which means you can use them in a fresh new space anytime, anywhere.

As I prepared this Top Ten Ideas for a Cottage Style Home, I was reminded of how each of us can create and design a space that is welcoming to our family, friends and guests. Hopefully you feel the same way.

Make it a beautiful day, with new beginnings and a fresh start.
