I know, Fall isn’t officially here for another week and a half, but I could not resist making my Vintage Bicycle Rim Wreath for Fall.
This unique and one-of-a-kind wreath couldn’t be easier to make. PLUS it will be a huge impact on your Fall decorating.
This post is part of the Thrifty Style Team monthly series hosted by Julie at Redhead Can Decorate.
At the end of this post you will find the links for incredibly talented bloggers and their fun thrifty ideas.
Now let’s get started with the elements to make your own Vintage Bicycle Rim Fall Wreath.
You will need:
1-vintage bicycle rim
1-12 inch faux berry wreath
1-large bunch of colorful faux leaves
4-stems/bunches of faux neutral colors flower, corn stalks or pussy willows
1-3 foot wired strand of colorful faux berries
3-packets seeds (flower or pumpkin seeds)
3-clothes pins
3 feet of floral wire or floral tape
To assemble your Fall bicycle wreath start by attaching the 12 inch faux berry wreath to the center of the bicycle rim. You can use either the floral tape or wire to adhere it to the rim.
Now on to adding the faux berry vine. Wrap it around the outside of the rim, by twisting and branches around it. You CAN use wire or floral tape to attach it, but it isn’t necessary.
Spread out and twist each berry strand for a whimsical look.
Once that is set, you can begin to add the floral and leaf stems. I chose neutral colors for these stems, but you can use whatever YOU like. This is all about YOU creating something that fits YOUR style and taste.
Attaching the floral stems, I used the same method as I did with all the other pieces. Either using wire or floral tape.
I added two floral stems above the leaves and two below to add balance.
For the final touch, I choose various types of flower seeds. But also including pumpkin seeds for another Fall touch.
To attach the seeds I used simple clothes pins. I didn’t add them with a pattern in mind. Just what was eye appealing to me.
For more details, you could add a bow, bird feathers or even lights. It will be beautiful with your choices.
My Vintage Bicycle Rim Fall Wreath is hanging on my cottage apartment back porch. My neighbors and friends have commented how much they enjoy seeing it as they walk to and from work.
That’s what it’s all about, right?
I hung my new Fall wreath with a wire. But you could use a nail, wreath hanger our even jute twine to hang yours.
Thanks for stopping by Vintage Bicycle Rim Wreath for Fall. I can’t wait to see YOUR version of this wreath using your own talents and creativity.
