I am so excited to share my Garden In a Shoe and The Gro Project with you!
Have you seen the Miracle Gro Project Facebook page recently? There is a whole movement in gardening you can find fun garden projects for the whole family. There are also more ideas on Miracle Gro Pinterest boards. Check it out as a forum for gardeners to come together and share gardening stories.
I saw some and projects, and knew I needed to try my own. I am constantly blown away by the creativity and imagination from others, aren’t you?
Since we do live in a condo, I don’t get to garden much. BUT, I do love to fill my containers with floral beauties, like Verbena. The first thing I did was find a container. But, I didn’t want just any container. I wanted to create a Garden In a Shoe.
Yep, I thought a shoe would be the perfect container for my project.
Next, I lined my shoe with interfacing.
Then the REAL fun begins…
I filled my shoe with:
With Moisture Control Potting Soil made by Miracle-Gro, and voila!
I first filled the toe of my shoe with Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix. I placed 2 Verbena plants in my shoe. The last step was to fill my shoe to the top with Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix.
Now I have a Garden In a Shoe. Love it!!

Meegan that is so cute, what a great idea to put it in a shoe and I never would have thought of using interfacing!

I am saving this for our 5th wheel. I know I want something small like a plant in it, I just wasn’t sure how. Thanks for the Inspiritation! Now I need to start looking for just the right container!

What a cute idea! I like to plant in old rainboots and cowboy boots, but I’ve never though to use an old shoe. I have some darling little toddler shoes that would look so cute lined up with tiny sprouts in them!
