May 6, 2013 By Meegan 5 Comments

Hello Hello!!  I am excited today to share a tutorial for a Mothers Day Book Page Garland.  It’s super easy and perfect for a Mother’s Day decor!!

So, here we go!!

Elements needed:

Chipboard cards

Paint

Stencils

Twine

Fan Folded Book Pages

Hole Punch

I found these fabric covered chipboard cards at Michaels (4 in a package).  The package was labeled “Journal”, but I thought I could use them for a garland incorporating  it with my book page garland.

Using stencils I decided to spell out “Mom”.

I used craft paint along with my stencils.  Pink was just the right color!!  Love it.

Doesn’t it look great so far??

Using the same technique as I did with my book page garland, I had a Mother’s Day Garland in no time at all.

Wouldn’t she be so pretty hanging above your buffet table for Mother’s Day Brunch or Tea??

Book page banners are so easy to make.  I think your mom needs a Mothers Day Book Page Garland, don’t you?  This garland would also be great for a graduation party, Father’s Day, birthdays, you name it-it works.

My Book Page Garland

November 15, 2012 By Meegan 30 Comments

Hello!!  One week until Thanksgiving!!  Are you ready??  There is still time to make and add this cute and easy garland and add it to your mantel, shelves, or buffet table.  It’s so easy and fun!!

Okay, so here we go:

For this garland I used 50 pages from a book I bought from the thrift store for 75 cents.  SCORE!!

I folded each page into a fan, making the page into quarters or fourths.  (It only takes 3 folds to make the page into quarters)  I found the middle of the page and using a hole punch made a hole.

I used about 2 yards of twine and threaded my “fans” through each hole.  Easy!!

You can see that each page opens up, just like a fan.  You could make it tighter with more pages or use less.  Whatever you like best.  That’s the best part-you can make it your own.

Isn’t she pretty??  You could also use scrapbook paper for a colored garland as birthday decorations.  Cute idea???  I love it!!

OR you could even add colored coffee filters, like I did for our son’s wedding!

So which one are you going to make??  You could even keep it up through Christmas-which I think I am going to do.

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Make it a wonderful Thursday!!
