Vintage Lace, Ribbon and Thread in Milk Bottles and Vintage Jars

May 1, 2013 By Meegan Leave a Comment

Hello Hello!  The flu bug is still hanging around me, but I am trying to beat it…  In the meantime,

There are several things that make me smile.  Definitely my family, the ocean, the color blue, and vintage items.  I like the idea of a vintage look all over our home.  No matter what room it is.  That is why I like my vintage lace, ribbon and thread in milk bottles and vintage jars.

The ribbon, lace and thread all came from my Grandma’s collection.  Some of  the items are from when she was learning to sew as a child.

I found the wire basket at the thrift store for $1.00.  It is a perfect home for my milk bottles.  Adding the vintage lace completes the look I was hoping for.

The vintage Ball jar was a gift from Hubby years ago, and now is the home for my vintage seam binding, pins, ribbons and ric rac scraps.

The buttons are all from Grandma and my mom.  Buttons are something else that make me smile.  I don’t why, but they do.

I also like the wooden spools in the largest jar.  Another thrift find for a $1. Vintage Lace Ribbon and Thread in Milk bottles and Vintage jars

The milk bottles are from Hubby.  He likes vintage milk bottles, too.  I’m lucky, huh?

I just can’t get enough of this shelf in our office.

I made the chalkboard with homemade chalk paint.  Easy.  And interchangeable for whatever or wherever I want.

It always amazes me how the small things make a difference.  The vintage lace, ribbon and thread in milk bottles and vintage jars make a huge statement on an otherwise boring bookshelf

and, they make me smile…

What makes you smile in your home.  What vintage items can you bring out for display in your home?  Thinks about it and then let me know what you come up with.  I’d love to hear about it.
