With 30 bloggers participating, you are sure to be inspired. I am excited to be asked to start off today with a Fall craft. I am going to teach you How To Dip Paint Silverware. It is easy, fun and looks fabulous any time of year.

Let’s begin the tour…

How To Dip Paint Silverware is a fun and unique way to add creativity to your Fall Tablescape.

I have always wanted to try it, and I thought you might, too.

Create a Unique Tablescape with Paint Dipped Silverware

How to Dip Silverware in Paint

What you will need:

clean and dry silverware

chalk paint OR Fusion Mineral Paint

(the color I used is: prairie sunset)

wax paper

light sand paper

Dipping Silverware in Paint

Step one:

Dip your silverware one piece at a time into a jar of paint, allowing as much paint to drip off as possible.

Tip: try to make each paint line as even as all the rest of your silverware.

Step 2:

Lay painted silverware to dry on wax paper.

When each piece is dry (It may take up to 12-18 hours depending on how thick your paint is.) lightly sand the rough edges or excess paint.

Dessert Forks

Step 3:

Decorate your Fall table with a unique look for all your guests to admire.

I like how you can still see the details of the decorative lines on each piece.

Wasn’t that fun and EASY? I can’t wait to see what kind of ideas you come up with.

One last tip: To avoid chipping and peeling, please hand wash and do not use a scrubbing pad on your silverware.

What a great idea! This would also be perfect to use on old, unmatched flatware!

What a fun way to get custom seasonal silverware.. if you picked it up at the thrift store, it would cost you next to nothing to have a set for every holiday! <3

What a great idea! My Goodwill store sells flatware for 25 cents per piece–you could take old pieces and easily create a fun look for any kind of occasion! This is brilliant. :)

I am definitely trying this technique. Maybe with gold paint. I’ve been wanting some gold-dipped flatware, but the price tag has kept me from purchasing any. Now, I’ll just make my own.
