Don’t you just love Pottery Barn?  But don’t love the prices?  I know, me, too.  A few weeks ago I shared my DIY Pottery Barn Knock-off Glitter Book Page Pumpkin.  I made it before I started a blog, so I wasn’t ever able to share the tutorial.

Well, today is your lucky day!  I have the tutorial for my Pottery Barn Knock-off Glitter Book Page Pumpkin for you today!  Woo! I know you will enjoy this Fall craft as much as I have.

Isn’t she lovely?

My DIY Bling Pumpkin

September 21, 2013 By Meegan 18 Comments

As you know by now, I enjoy going to thrift stores and finding items and turning them into treasures.  I haven’t always done this.  It has just been within the last 2 years that I have started this new hobby or obsession. (hehe)  I am excited to show you my latest thrift find DIY bling pumpkin. I have been out shopping, really just looking to see the Fall and Halloween decor.  I love the feeling of Fall and all the glitter and bling that now adorn the decorations.

I bought this lovely for 75 cents.

My DIY Bling Pumpkin

I like her chippy look and texture.  But, after seeing all the bling and glitter, I thought, “Why not fix this pumpkin up and add a little bling?”

My DIY Bling Pumpkin

I started off by painted her white, using a flat wall paint.

I have these beautiful rhinestone sticker strips from David Tutera.  They are in the wedding accessory aisle at Michaels.

You know how much I love blue, so instead of green, I thought a blue stem would be the perfect touch.  The sticker strips are really easy to use.  Cut the size you need, peel off the back and you are set.

Once I had my stem ready, I was ready to add the orange bling.  I cut strips of 2 and 3 wide for variety.

And Voila!  A DIY Bling Pumpkin is just minutes.

For pennies, I now have my own version of bling pumpkin.  What do you think??  Doesn’t she look great??

I am happy to share my DIY Bling Pumpkin with you.  I love reading your comments and try to respond to everyone.

I Am Ready For Halloween!! Yay!!

October 23, 2012 By Meegan 9 Comments

Are you ready for Halloween?? I Am Ready For Halloween!!  Yay!!  I am always trying to find ways to be a “fun” grandma.  Sometimes I am successful, other times, I am not. I keep trying anyway, though.

I think this year is going to be a BIG hit. All because I found this free printable a few days ago and I can not resist making these cute gifts for the grand babies!!

I got out my ribbon, scissors, gift bags, and my spiders.  Oooh! I love having fun with these free printables, especially for the grand babies!

I filled each bag with kisses and a few spiders.  I have a feeling the boys are going to LOVE this!!  I am loving how the spiders kind of “peek” through the kisses!

 Cute, cute, cute!!

Here they are!!  ALL 18 of them.  We will see the grand babies next week  Yay!!

Did I eat kisses while I made these cute goodie bags??  Why, yes I did!  And I must say it was totally worth it!!

I also used the spider for my Halloween porch sign.

What do you like to handout for Halloween??  One year I gave SO much candy to the grand kids, that they were RUNNING around like crazy.  I kinda got in trouble from my kids.  Not REAL trouble-but the kids were SO crazy on a sugar high, it was’t real fun.  Oops!  Needless to say, I have changed my ways, well-sometimes anyway. (hehehe)

I Am Ready For Halloween.  Yay!!

Thanks for reading my blog today.  I hope you come back again soon.

Make it a wonderful Wednesday.

My 10 Minute Halloween Porch

October 17, 2012 By Meegan 5 Comments

I love Halloween and seeing all the cute little trick or treaters!!  I love their little faces looking up at me as they say “Trick or Treat!”  SO cute!!  How could I not set up my 10 minute Halloween porch?

I didn’t think Halloween was going to be set up for us this year.  But, it seriously took just a few minutes to create a Halloween Porch for our trick or treaters…

Most of the decor is from when our kids were little.  Love the almost dead flowers.  Great touch.

I printed this out and placed it in a frame.  I also glued 2 spider rings for some depth.  (I cut off the ring)

I painted this Jack-o-Lantern about 20 yrs ago.  I always want to throw it out, but the kids won’t let me.  The watering can was a present from Hubby with tulips in it.  (Yes, I know-I am lucky!)  I have fun lighting up the pumpkins wrapped around the topiary every night.

Can you tell I like Jack-o-Lanterns??  I love happy ones.  They are so cute and welcoming for the kids.

This pirate cracks me up.  And the mouse is to creep Hubby out when he comes home from work.  (We like playing practical jokes on each other)

Here is the whole porch along with my Easy Halloween Wreath.

It is always fun to look forward to Halloween and seeing all the costumes and creativity,  but especially the cute faces when I hand them a piece of candy with I see them looking at all the accessories on my 10 minute Halloween porch!

Do you decorate for Halloween?  How many trick or treaters do you get?

Make it a wonderful Wednesday!
