I’ve Got The Monday Blues-Furniture Style

May 20, 2013 By Meegan 3 Comments

It’s Monday!!  We had a wonderful time with family at our niece’s wedding this past weekend!  Gorgeous bride, handsome groom committed to each other-nothing better than that!!  BUT, now I’ve got the Monday Blues-Furniture Style!!

I've Got The Monday Blues-Furniture Style

Let’s check it out…

mb2CL_IGP2677-480x360Oh wow, look at this blue beauty!!  This is a Craig’s list find.  After lots of Goo Gone-Can you believe how lovely this is by Redoux Restoration??

mbc70a54e4b9758be8b21173ea015bcd0dYou can never go wrong when you read Centsational Girl!  An Ikea dresser turned into a work of beauty with blue fabric covered drawers.  You have got to see this make over!  Easy and the end result looks professional. Check out her blog for the full tutorial.

mb4de66eb0a1c9613539f05a5dc4486a83Practical Living shares this striped table along with the textured walls.  And the blue buffet balances the room.  Not to forget or ignore the beautiful candy!!  What a room!

mb0702c63dc04723560befcee530b815a9I found this over at BHG.  Tracey Rapisardi is the designer for this bathroom.  I love the well balance of the various blues and textures.  And what’s not to love about the bowl??

mb101328963.jpg.rendition.largestAnother Tracy Rapisardi design here as well.  I think we share the same love for blues and whites combined.  The chairs are crisp and cheery.  The striped table top is so inviting.  And then the added plaid pillows, love it.  Lovin’  on the chandy with the added blue crystals, too.  Simple, beachy feel.

I hope you have enjoyed the Monday Blues-Furniture Style as much as I have sharing them with you.  I am always inspired when I share the Monday blues with you.

I’d love for you to pin the features, but please click through and pin from the original source.

Refreshed Summer Wreath

May 16, 2013 By Meegan 5 Comments

With a little creativity, scrapbook paper, a hot glue gun and a few pieces of faux greenery I created a Refreshed Summer Wreath.

I have this wreath.  It’s not bad, I like it, but I needed to add MY touch.  So I decided to make a refreshed Summer wreath.  Easy enough, right?  Now, the creative juices were flowing…

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique Finds

May 14, 2013 By Meegan 1 Comment

Good Morning!  Today I am going to share a few of my antiques and thrift finds.

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique Finds

I love glass.  I love blue glass.  I love antiques.  I love to go antiquing.  I love thrifting.  I love what I find when I go thrifting.  Hence I love sharing with you some of my antique finds and thrifting gems.  Some of these are gifts and others I bought my self.

Here are just a few of my antiques and thrifted items that I have put together in our living room recently.   The colors say “Spring is here and Summer is coming soon…”

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsRight off the bat I have black and white family pictures.  They really are all our family.  I didn’t purchase these.  The frosted blue insulator is one of my favorite antique finds.  I love the waves in the glass.

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsAll of these pieces were found at our local thrift store.  Yep, even the blue Mason jar was found there for a buck!!  Yes!!  The 2 vases are from my friend Barbara. I found the candle stand when it was a yucky, dirty brown-of course, I painted it shades of blue.

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsWhile I was taking pictures for this post, a package came from my daughter.  Guess what was in it??   Two more insulators!!  One almost clear, and the other a deep turquoise.  My kids know me well.  They were both found at an antique mall near my daughter’s home.

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsOn my bookshelf, I placed my galvanized watering can.  Hubby bought it for me years ago while antiquing in California.  The watering can blends well with the black and white pictures, don’t you think?

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsThe galvanized pot with the blue ribbon is what I used for Easter.  The blue bottle is from another antiquing trip in Morro Bay, CA.

The small urn was not found thrifting or antiquing, but at Big Lots for $2.  I brought it home, painted it white, and filled it with green moss.  (Can you tell I like paint?)

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsI really like all of these elements placed together.

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique FindsThe tray was a thrift find for $1, as was the turquoise vase.  The other 2 vases were also from Barbara.

Bring Spring & Summer In with Thrifted & Antique Finds The marbles and sea glass were purchased at Target on sale.  Lucky me!  Using different levels and vessels I can bring Spring and Summer into our home with very little cost or effort.

Those are just a few of my antiques and thrift finds.  I am still working on a thrifted dining table and chairs that I will share very soon.  I can’t wait till you see it!

Until then..

Easy To Hang Decorative Plates

May 10, 2013 By Meegan 20 Comments

Hello Hello!!  I have been missing a lot lately.  This flu bug will not leave me alone.  At all.  We also had 2 of the grand kiddos here for a visit, so I have been recuperating and playing “go fish”.  We had fun, but now I am excited to be posting for you again.

Now, on to the most simple idea ever…Easy to hang decorative plates.  I mean, easy.

Don’t you just love the look of plates hanging on a wall?   I really do and finally found these 3 plates while thrifting a few weeks ago.  At 75 cents each, I couldn’t pass them up.  I mean, blue plates-I needed them now!!

Easy To Hang Decorative Plates

I could picture them hanging above our pantry door.  It is a small space, but needed a little pizzazz.  These plates were the answer.  I like how they don’t match perfectly.  Two are from the same pattern, but still a little different.
