My Valentines Shelves

January 31, 2013 By Meegan 7 Comments

I am loving white lately, so it was fun to put together my Valentines Shelves this year!!  Love pink and red together, so this was fun.  I arranged and rearranged until I came up with this:

My Valentine Shelves

These shelves just make me smile.  Simple elements with a touch of color.  Love it!!

My Valentine Shelves

I used one of my thrifted frames and tied red ric rac to it.  I then covered a clothes pin with glue and white glitter.   Cute!! Then clipped this sign I found at the 99 cent store 2 years ago.  I know-how cute is that sign???  My colors and my thoughts exactly!!

My Valentine ShelvesFor the banner I used a larger ric rac.  (Gotta love me some ric rac!)  I made hearts from scrap-book paper and felt.  Easy!!

My Valentine Shelves

These little cuties are my fave part!!  Again, I used ric rac and to keep with the white theme,  and I added white coconut jellies.

Loving the ric rac for added red color.

My Valentine Shelves

“Cherish'” is just right for Valentines day, don’t you think??  The pink candle holder is a thrift find.  I found it as metallic rainbow colors and painted it with my craft paints from Joann’s to match the dove on the top shelf.  The final touch on the candle??  Ric rac, of course!!

Can’t you just feel the love??

My 2012 Christmas Shelves

November 28, 2012 By Meegan 7 Comments

Yay!!  It is Wednesday and time to share My 2012 Christmas Shelves!!  If you are following me, you know that I posted my shelves from last year a few days ago.   Okay, before I show you the shelves, I need to tell you:  These shelves haunted me!!  I had all of my decorations laid out ready to go, and I had no vision, no creativity whatsoever!!  The shelves were empty for 4 days.  They would just stare at me, saying,”Well, what are you going to do with me?”  Ugh!  Finally after trial and error, I finally was pleased with them-I hope you are, too!

First off, I knew I wanted a Nativity to be displayed.   The Nativity was Hubby’s mom’s.  I feel honored to own it.

I like the look of the burlap for some added texture.  I am liking the rustic feel of both shelves.  That is why I chose these particular icicles.  Icicles are something I have a weakness for.  I can not resist a good icicle!!

The top shelf had me puzzled.  It started out with a crystilized wreath.  Sort of like this branch.  I received the “Tis The Season” from our oldest daughter one year.  The thought goes so well with the Nativity.  I borrowed the frame and the moss wreath from our TV Room.  AND, don’t you just love the twig ball??  This was a gift from my mom’s husband.  He saw it and said, “Meegan needs this!”  He was right!!

This is a view from our living room.  The shelves look great along with the snow globes, don’t you think??   I mentioned before that Hubby loves snow globes.  Well, here they are!!  I will show you more and up close in another post in December.

Christmas Shelf Ideas…

November 23, 2012 By Meegan 5 Comments

So, did you get up early today for some Black Friday shopping?  What deals did you score??  I went out and found a few gifts for the grand-kiddos.  I love the cold, and the hustle and bustle of shopping.  It helps me get in the spirit of Christmas and family time.

SOOOO…Last year, the day after Christmas, I started my blog.  Most of you weren’t around then, so I thought I would share my Christmas Mantel from last year.  (Pardon the photography-I was/am still learning.  I am glad I am a “little” better now)

I love white and blue as you know already.  The “Kissing Carolers” are from my Grandma’s Christmas decoration collection

Another view of my shelves.  The frame was made last year when I started the blog. I have collected icicles as long as I can remember.  I bought the “Nativity” when we had only been married 3 yrs.  So it is now 31 yrs old.  It is a Christmas staple in our home.

Hubby loves Christmas snow globes.  I try to buy him a new and unique one every year.  I will share his whole collection as I begin to share our Christmas decor.  I think he has 16 + as of now.  I also set up 3 Christmas trees lined up together.  I have new plans and a new vision for them this year.

Do your Christmas decorating visions change every year, too?

Thanks for letting me share some of my Christmas past with you.  I am REALLY looking forward to Christmas future!!

Christmas is coming fast.  Are you ready?  I have most of the shopping done.  Just a few more gifts, then it is time to wrap ’em up!!

See you soon on  Pinterest, Facebook, Hometalk, Google +, Stumble Upon, and now LinkedIn!!

Make it a Fantastic Friday!!
