TV Room Reveal

September 19, 2012 By Meegan 19 Comments

Hello!!  So good to be with you today!!  I feel like I am finally home. And ready to share my TV Room Reveal. I have been busy with traveling, and wedding flowers, not to mention having Hubby home for a few days, AND our 35th Wedding Anniversary!

Anyway, in-between time I have been slowly working on our TV Room.  It is really a bedroom, but is more functional for us as a TV Room, and perfect for when company comes for a visit.

This is walking into the TV Room from the living room. I painted the silhouette frames and the candlestick holder.
I worked on and added to my family gallery wall.  And then refreshed the vintage craft cupboard.  I also made the family “F’ hanging with the gallery of pictures.

I FINALLY painted the wall with the windows.  It is called “Hint of Olive” by Ace Hardware.  I had painted the framed mirror before I started blogging.  I also made the wreath before the blog.  Easy Peasy.  Tutorial to come soon :)

I shared the tutorial for the Pinkish Frames with you here.  Then the lampshade makeover decision here.  I hung curtains from Ikea.  I, then recovered old pillows with coordinating fabric, to flow with the pinkish pillow and walls.

This table is a refresh from my step dad.  Isn’t she lovely with my lamp and my gift mod podged can from Debbie Doos???  Yes, and the skates on the left were my grandpa’s when he was a teenager.  And, yes, they have wooden wheels!!

I painted and stenciled my old rug to refresh it up.  It fits so well in the room now, don’t you think?  Don’t mind my make shift slip cover.  I am working on one soon.  I can’t wait!!!

I put up and arranged another type of photo gallery.  I called it “My Floating Frames”
This is on the other side of the closet and floating gallery.  I hung a chandy that use to hang in our bedroom.  But now she has a new home.  She fits just right in this spot, along with an embroidery piece my mom made while she was pregnant with me.  These sweet little shelves were also made by my mom!!   I decided to highlight them with my mom’s high school typewriter, a PB phone, a vintage serving dish, a candle stick I thrifted, and a candelabra.
As you can see there is a bathroom right off the TV Room.  Perfect for when guests are here.

The last wall.  The chest was made by my Grandpa-LOVE it.  Don’t you just love our TV? Fancy, huh? One will be purchased soon.  Some things just take time :)    Until then, I decided to hang up a little something to keep the theme of the room flowing.  I used an old frame, painted it “Hint of Olive” (Just like the wall), then hung my mod podge birdies in it.

I decided to make 2 flowers from book pages just like I did when I made the pinkish pillow and very similar to the book page wreath I made for the living room.  Again, easy peasy!!

There you have it: Our TV Room Reveal.  As you can see, I did most of it myself.  It took me a full 2 years while I have been working on other projects and ideas as well.  It has been fun.  It started out a botanical room, but I think that has now changed to the living room.  We shall see. Time will tell and as long as the creative juices are flowing, no telling what I might come up with!

Thanks for stopping by today.  You made my day brighter and fuller!

Make it a full and wonderful day for yourself, too!!

Meegan

The room looks like a great place to relax and enjoy some down time. I love the three silhouettes and that you hung them in view when you walk in the room. I also really like the black and white photos in the picture holder on the nightstand. We have the same kind of t.v. in our “teen lounge”. I look forward to seeing your slipcover.

What a great makeover, so much to look at. I love the picture frames and the little table with all the vintage decor. And the style and colour on the craft cupboard is beautiful, you don’t find great pieces like that here.
