I’ve Got The Monday Blues

February 18, 2013 By Meegan 10 Comments

Hello Monday!  I’ve Got The Monday Blues.  And I would love to share them you you.  I think you will have the Monday Blues, too after seeing these beauties.

This creative blue is from my friend Gracie at Kitchen Table Art.

I've Got The Monday Blues

Gracie has a tiny kitchen.  So, she and her hubby made their own pantry with a bookshelf and a homemade screen door.

I know-how awesome is that?  So creative and a perfect fit for their kitchen. Check out the blog for more details…Thanks for sharing my love of blue Gracie.

As for my fave blue around our home this week…

I would have to choose something from here:

The blue basket is cute..but…

I did a makeover with the $3.00 shelf!!

$3 Thrifted Shelf Makeover

Yep, she is now a pretty blue in our office!!

I started off by using a white primer on her.  No sanding, just primer.

Then I added paint from an old paint can called Turquoise Mist by Olympic.

I seriously have had this can of paint for over 2 years and have used in several places in our home.  I loved how it is thick and glumpy!  Just right for what I need.

Love those chunks of blue paint, don’t you?  With the Green (Hint of Olive by Ace Hardware), I filled my paint brush with paint and let it drip on the shelf.  Love me some imperfection.

I really like the added texture with the blue and green chunky paint…

Once she was dry, I sanded her edges for some aging.  It was a treat to use my Cardboard Chalkboard and my floating frames on the shelf.  I made the blue tulle wreath for our son’s wedding open house.  The book page flowers add more texture. And for the final touch-a few strands of great-grandma’s lace.

Love love love my $3 thrifted “new” shelf.  I hope you enjoy the Monday Blues as much as I do!!  I share my blues every Monday!!  So come back again!!

Make it a Blue Monday!!
