How to Recover a Dining Chair Seat

June 1, 2015 By Meegan 2 Comments

Hello Hello! It is great to be with you today. As you remember, I spent 10 days in Washington D.C. with one of our daughters. She text me before I got there and said, “How would you like to recover my chairs while you are here?”  I replied with a HUGE YES! You may have seen many chair makeovers on Pinterest, but I wanted to show you How to Recover a Dining Chair Seat, my easy and simple way.

We started out with 6 chairs, looking like this.  Not bad, at all.  The whole set was given to our daughter for free. The BEST price, right?Chair Before

Having a family of 7, she wanted something durable. And not plastic.

Small Side Table Makeover Using Fusion Mineral Paint

May 21, 2015 By Meegan 19 Comments

Happy Thursday! And welcome to Themed Furniture Makeover Day.  It is one of my favorite posts each month.  Several bloggers have a theme, choose a piece of furniture and do their interpretation of the theme.  This month’s theme is small tables.

Themed Furniture Makeover Day Buttton

I chose to work on a Small Side Table Makeover Using Fusion Mineral Paint. I got the paint as a sample at SNAP! Conference and also used a portion on my “new” vintage sign.

Small Table Before Makeover

This is the small table is about to make a transformation from light pink to a beachy color called Laurentine. This color will be ideal for a new look on our front porch.

The table was a sample from when my husband was a furniture sales rep.  He carried this metal and glass table around in his car, show it to furniture store owners and then I ended up keeping it.  When it was a sample, it was a gray, steel color.  It was nice for the time, but I wanted a little color to it.

I painted it with craft paint mixing white with a few drops of red to make it light pink.  It has been like that for a few years, and I have never really liked it. Weird how that happens, isn’t it?Continue Reading

How To Make Your Own Vintage Sign

May 18, 2015 By Meegan 12 Comments

I have been infatuated with the whole idea of How To Make Your Own Vintage Sign for awhile now. I even shared a post 2 years ago about 12 Homemade Signs. I had found each one of them on Pinterest.

After a few years I decided it was time for me to make my own vintage sign.  It is a knock off of the ones I found on Pinterest.  Of course, I added my own twist, but it looks amazing for our home.

Not only that…But, several of my blogging friends have knocks offs of their own.  I can’t wait to see what they have come up with. Their knock off creations will be listed in the bottom of this post.

Thank YOU for being here today, Jennifer.  I am honored to have you visit my blog.
