Seven Ideas To Decorate For Easter Using Easter Eggs

March 26, 2013 By Meegan 6 Comments

This year all of our kids and grandkiddos will be spending the Easter at their own homes   That means I don’t need to go all out decorating for Easter this year.

I bought 16 speckled eggs in all sizes. I thought it would be fun and a challenge to only decorate with my speckled eggs and a few other elements I have.

I found all of these candlesticks at the thrift store.  I painted them white.  And now they look adorable holding a few of my speckled eggs.  Wouldn’t they look nice on an Easter Buffet table??

To me, the look of Easter eggs in a tea-cup says,”Spring”.  I added my moss-covered candle holders as a special touch.

The look of a nest in an urn with eggs-simply sweet.

Speckled eggs with a little moss, under a cloche.  Can you say love??

I thought these eggs look like they are being hidden for an Easter egg hunt.  Placing the plant on a candle holder-So simple, but sweet.

This is my fave look.  I used a candle pedestal holding a clear plate.  I added a ribbon around my wheat grass container.  Love the Tiffany blue-just right for Easter.  Using fake grass from 99Cent Only Store, I then added my eggs.  This would make a great centerpiece for an Easter dinner.

Love this look.   Eggs and moss in a vintage tea-cup sitting on a vintage book, along with a vintage tray.  What’s not to love??

March 14, 2013 By Meegan 6 Comments

My friend Leslie has an incredible Hot Red Potato Salad recipe.  When I had the first bite, I knew I was in love!  I know you will be, too.  I also thought you might like it for St Patrick’s Day, Easter or even a Summer Barbecue.

Hot Red Potato Salad
{Hot Red Potato Salad}

Ingredients:

5 lbs red potatoes, cut into cubes

1/4 c melted butter

1/4 c olive oil

Garlic powder

Season salt

DRESSING:

2 c mayonnaise

4 cloves garlic, pressed

3 T lemon juice

2 T red wine vinegar

1 c fresh grated Parmesan cheese

ADD-INS & TOPPINGS

Chopped green onions

Italian parsley

1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, coarsely chopped

Croutons

Preheat oven to 400*.  Toss cubed potatoes with olive oil and butter.  Sprinkle generously with garlic powder and season salt.  Bake for 45 minutes.  Broil for 5 minutes.  Place potatoes in a large mixing bowl.

In a separate bowl mix mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and red wine vinegar.  Add Parmesan cheese and mix well.  Pour over potatoes and stir.  Add croutons, Italian parsley and green onions.  Serve warm.  Actually it is great cold, too.

It can be served with a roasted turkey, corned beef, hamburgers or as a main dish

Seriously.  This Hot Red Potato Salad will make your mouth smile!  I guarantee it.

Make it a fabulous Thursday!
