Things are getting back to normal around our house. I am doing laundry, sewing, and cooking for Hubby since I was gone for so long. Now I am back and ready to show you Birds and Birdhouses, My Collection (Maybe an Obsession)
I have always liked birds. Birds and Birdhouses in Home Decor. Wow. While I was thinking about writing this post, I realized just how many birds and birdhouses I have.
Happy Tuesday everyone! I am in Washington D.C. I have been here for several days now. I have seen the Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, Capital Hill, The Smithsonian Institute, the L.D.S. Temple, and much more. PLUS spending time with some of the cutest grandkiddos around.I will be sharing pictures here on my blog soon. Happy Thursday everyone! This week is rolling right on by, isn’t it? The Fall Home Decor Home Tour continues today. There have been SO many ideas and creativity. It’s been a real treat to visit each blog to see their interpretation of Fall. I love it.
Now, to tell you a story about my Roadside Vintage Window Frame and an idea.
I was in California a about 2 weeks ago. While my daughter-in-law and I were driving through my old home town, we saw a man on the side of the road selling vintage and new items. My eye caught a glimpse of a LARGE picture frame. I mean, it was larger that poster size! We quickly turned into the parking lot. My DIL said,” If the frame is $15 I will buy, for sure!” She got out of the car towards the “stuff”. I saw her look down at what I thought were window frames. I jumped out to see what she was looking at. Yes, they were indeed vintage window frames!
There were 4 window frames. Now, to choose which one(s) I wanted. BUT, how much would it cost me??? My DIL had already asked him about the frame. The price was $7! Really? That is awesome!
Next question,”How much are these window frames?” He replied, “Oh, I guess 3 dollars a piece.” Yowza!! What a steal of a deal! Did he know what he had? I don’t think so…
This is the frame I chose. Yes, I only bought one. And, Yes, I am kicking myself for not buying all 4. (heavy sigh)
Look at all the rust and chippy goodness.
Everything was still in tact. A little dirty, but a beautiful patina.
I had a an ideal new home for my vintage window frame.
Right above my “mantel headboard”.
With a little cleaning up, it looks like it belongs there.
You can see I have had fun playing with accessories on my shelf.

It’s always amazing to me how such a small change can make a big impact. Who would have thought a $3 Roadside Vintage Window Frame could change the look and feel of my bedroom?
