Create a Eucalyptus, Fruit and Vegetable Tablescape

September 6, 2019 By Meegan 3 Comments

I was having friends over and wanted to make my table a little extra special. Starting with some groceries and greenery, I was able to create a Eucalyptus, Fruit and Vegetable Tablescape.

Reaching into my refrigerator, I pulled out fresh fruits and vegetables to start this new look in my cottage apartment.

Sometimes simple is best. Without spending a lot of money, you can decorate with an elegant and stylish look.

For a table cloth, I used a curtain that I purchased at TJ Maxx. I really like the texture this adds for this table style. The cutout pieces remind me of tiny feathers.

Layering your pieces makes a professional look. That’s just what I did here.

All the layers and textures add visual interest. The clear plates can be used for any season, style or celebration.

Adding a vintage crocheted throw to the seat is another way to add a little “extra”. My grandma made this as a table cloth and I love using it as a throw in my living room, bedrooms and even occasionally as a table cloth. (Grandma would have loved all these ideas.)

I have designed tablescapes for a long time, while I was designing weddings. Typically I would only use fruit. But when I reached into the fridge and eyed my tomatoes and radishes, I thought, “Why not? The colors are ideal for Summer, Fall and even Winter.

Besides layering the greenery, fruits and veggies, I like adding various heights with candle sticks and bases. This is also a great way to add neutral colors to your table, without costing too much.

I like the fact that they DON’T match. Sometimes I like matching, but most times, no. Are you like that, too?

I hope you are inspired to design and create your own fresh tablescape. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion or event. Decorating your table should be fun and enjoyable. Make everyday a special day with a Eucalyptus, Fruit and Vegetable Tablescape.

Thanks for joining me and making my day just that much better.

Love this. I’m becoming more of a simpler and less is more person all the time. I also have these leaf glasses in silver and gold. I wish I could find fresh eucalyptus more often to use.
