When I browse through craft stores or home décor shops. I am always looking for something I can recreate for a lower price. That is exactly what happened with my DIY Rustic Bell Christmas Ornament.
I saw something very similar, came home and recreated it. These are rustic, festive and unique.
I thought you might like something like it, as well. So I have the full tutorial for you, here.
You will need:
5-bells (any color)
2-yards jute twine
4-sprigs greenery
3- small filler balls, like I used here
hot glue gun
hot glue
scissors
I had brand new red jingle bells that I bought at Hobby Lobby.
After soaking them in 3 tablespoons of salt and 1/2 cup of bleach in a small plastic cup for about 4 hours, they came out looking like the picture shown above.
Of course, you can leave the bells shiny and in any color YOU like. But I wanted a more rustic look. So I “rusted” them up.
Once the bells were dry, I measured out 5 strands of jute twine in various lengths. Starting with 9 inches being the shortest. Then each one 4 inches longer than the one before.
With a square knot, tie each bell to the jute twine. Then tie them together with a loop knot like the picture above.
After cutting your greenery sprigs in the lengths you like, you are ready to attach them to the jute loop knot with hot glue.
Start with the larger sprigs first. Attach with hot glue, being careful not to burn your fingers.
Next adhere the small sprigs on top of the larger ones.
Now it’s time for the filler balls. Arrange them how you think they look best.
Your DIY Rustic Bell Christmas Ornament is ready for your Christmas tree, a wreath, or on your front door.
These rustic ornaments could NOT be any easier. With just a few components you could make several as gifts, even.
I would love to know what colors you will be choosing for your own DIY Rustic Bell Christmas Ornaments.
I am so glad you stopped by today.
Have a wonderful day filled with those you love.

Very clever and they look beautiful. I would have rose gold on mine.

Oh, how lovely those bell colors look after you dunked them in the aging mixture. It looks like a beautiful rose paper has been modged on to them and your belled-up ornament looks so gorgeously rustic with the frosted greenery too. I’m going to have to scratch in my craft cupboard because I know I have some old bells hiding in there somewhere

Very cute bells. Love the pink on them! Plus that glam ornament with the brooch is awesome too!
