DIY Glittery Vases from Tin Cans

November 18, 2020 By Meegan Leave a Comment

After making my Glittery Christmas Wreath my creative juices started flowing to make DIY Glittery Vases from Tin Cans. They would fit perfectly with my Christmas table this year.

I have a full tutorial for you today. And it could not be easier.

Here are the components you will need:

1- bag bowl filler (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby)

1- roll sparkly ribbon(another Hobby Lobby find)

2-empty tin cans of varying sizes

glue gun

glue sticks (I used A LOT!)

sharp scissors or knife

measuring tape, if needed

I used 1 large and 1 small soup can for my vases. As well as this sparkly ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

As soon as I saw it, I KNEW I could use it for SOMETHING-you know how that is, right? The ribbon is quite thick in texture and sparkly on both sides. Perfect!

The bowl filler comes in blush and gold glitter colors. I love the contrast and it match the ribbon spot on.

Before starting, cut the filler balls in half like I did here.

With your glue gun hot and filled with glue sticks.

Begin to make your own patterns. I did one with a horizontal pattern and the other vertical.

Create whatever YOU like.

*Warning! The hot glue WILL make the tin can VERY hot. So wear gloves and be very, very careful.

There was no actual pattern. I did try to mix up the colors and sizes on the tin can as I glued the filler balls on, with ribbon spread throughout.

As for the ribbon-I tried to make it so that it was seen from every angle.

When you make your own, you could do one vase in just one color.

Or change it up with using as many colors as you like. You could even use a contrasting ribbon for a whole new look.

Such a fun project that I did while listening/watching to my favorite YouTube channel.

Creating this table setting is nothing like I have done before. And I am excited to share ALL of it with you in a blog post very soon.

I hope today has inspired you to make your own DIY Glittery Vases from Tin Cans.
