Field Trip Friday To A Rose Garden & Peony Farm

June 21, 2013 By Meegan 2 Comments

It’s Friday!  Yep, that means this week it is Field Trip Friday To A Rose Garden & Peony Farm.  I can hardly wait to share this field trip with you!!  I had a terrific time in Oregon.  I loved the green rolling hills, the fresh fruits and veggies, and this rose garden and peony farm.  I think you will have as much fun as I did.

Okay, so let’s get this field trip going…

I found this rose garden while on a walk one morning.  It so well manicured and was calling my name for a visit…

There were numerous types of roses.  From climbing roses to a the simplest rose bush.  These particular roses remind me of my grandma.

Oh my goodness-these are absolutely breath taking.  I bent down to smell each bush.  It was overwhelming.

Yellow roses have always been my fave.  Probably because I chose them as the main flower my wedding bouquet.

These roses remind me of taking my school teachers flowers when I was in Kinder and first grade.

I was touched that a section of the garden was dedicated to those who have served our country.

Each rose bush was carefully labeled and well cared for.  I stayed there for awhile to appreciate the time, care, and to those whom this garden was dedicated to.  I could have stayed longer, for sure.  The aroma of the roses was enveloping my senses.

Just 2 minutes from my daughter’s home, is a peony farm.  I know, how fun is that??  I was excited to share my field trip with you here, too.

Isn’t this just the most beautiful field?  Unfortunately the peonies were in full bloom the week before.  This was the last week of peony picking.  BUT, I enjoyed every bit of it, nonetheless!!

I fell in love with this windmill in front of the 3 barns.  How quaint and inviting, don’t you think?

In front of a barn, you will find pre-made bouquets.  You pick your choice and leave your check or money in a box.  I know, I felt like I had gone back in time 50 yrs or so.  To me, that was part of the experience.

Isn’t she lovely? So full of life and fragrance.

My little granddaughter was making sure I saw ALL of the “pretty flowers”.  She was right.  It was pretty!

Can you tell, I am in heaven?  I am taking in the smells, sights and sounds of this field trip.

Here is a pre-made bouquet waiting to be purchased.  The scent of peonies smells like Spring to me.  It was breath taking to see so much floral beauty on this:

I hope you had a sense of what I saw and experienced.  It was a beautiful day with much to be grateful for.

Thanks for taking us on a beautiful trip with nature. I could almost feel the beauty, peace and joy you were experiencing. I will look at peonies in a different way from now on.
