My Friends Secret Santa Blog Tour

November 25, 2014 By Meegan 7 Comments

Don’t you love playing Secret Santa with good friends?  I KNOW I do.  I am lucky enough to be a Secret Santa this year with My Friends Secret Santa Blog Tour.  Today 25 bloggers will be playing Secret Santa to each other. Our names were all randomly drawn to make a Christmas Gift/Decor for another blogger.  How fun, huh?

I am excited to be sending my Secret Santa gift to Christy from Our Southern Home.  As I looked through Christy’s home (no, I wasn’t stocking her…well, maybe a little) I noticed that we both have a love for book page crafts.

It took me awhile to be certain as to what I could make someone who is already SO talented., as Christy.  But I got my Santa hat on and started to work.

Last year I had spotted something similar to my Christmas Tree Art in Anthropologie.  I knew I wanted to make it for Christy’s gift.

I gathered together:

14×11 gold frame

Christmas green craft paint

vintage dictionary pages

glue stick

small bristle brush

template of a tree trunk and branches

template of a Christmas tree

glitter spray

Once I had my pages chosen, I adhered them to the chip board backing of the gold frame.

Centering my 2 templates on the book pages I was ready to paint.

As I filled the Christmas tree template with green craft paint, I was careful not to move the trunk and branches template.

Once my green craft paint was completely dry, I sprayed my Christmas tree art with Krylon Glitter Spray.

You can see hints of sparkle in these next few pictures:

You can also see that I didn’t paint my tree perfectly.  I wanted it to be a free-hand look.

I am thrilled with how easy my Christmas tree art was to make.  AND, I knew it was a great Secret Santa gift for my sweet friend, Christy.

NOW, the FUN part about My Friends Secret Santa Blog Tour, is that I receive a gift, TOO!  I was blessed enough to have Lani from Simply Fresh Vintage choose my name.  If you know Lani at all, you KNOW she has an incredible craft room FILLED with quilting supplies, fabrics and crafts.

Lani sent me a gorgeous Christmas box filled with chocolates (she knows me well), a stocking and an ornament.

Not only THAT, BUT she quilted me a handmade table runner is all of my favorite Christmas colors. Reds, whites, creams and of course, blue.  Can you believe ALL the detail on this table runner made by Lani?  Every detail is perfection.

I had NO IDEA Lani would honor me with one of her own handmade quilts.

The table runner is just lovely with my Christmas decor this year.  Thanks so much Lani!  I love my gifts.  I am blessed to know you through blogging.

It took me awhile to get through all the wonderful Secret Santa gifts and fabulous ideas. Thanksgiving was busy for us. But I couldn’t wait to see all the creative gifts. I love your book page tree! Great idea to have the tree branches in the center. Sharing and pinning! Jeanette
