I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I have been (once again) moving our furniture and accessories around. And it got me thinking…
How To Add a Cottage Look the easy way.
Yay! I’ve got the Monday Blues and I am excited to show you a few simple ways to How To Add a Cottage Look in a few EASY ways for any home.
First of all, it just takes ONE step to get you started.
It can be a simple accessory OR a piece of furniture. AND, it might take some time. But if you like a cottage look and feel it is worth your time.
How To Add a Cottage Look is as easy as using white as your base color. So simple, right?
Light blues, pinks and grays work, too.
Add a few doilies, fresh flowers, slip covers, white vases and dishes and maybe even a column for some cottage touches.
Using vintage pieces always is a great way to add a cottage feel to any home. Like these box springs turned into vases. Tie them with vintage hankies and you have a cottage look. Simple and effective.
Birdhouses and birdcages are always a must. Fill them with fresh or even dried flowers for a beautiful cloche. Perfect for any room, right?
You can even use a chest of drawers that you already have (this one was from Ikea) and transform it into an apothecary chest. Amazing, right?
Like I said, take your time, enjoy the process and have FUN!
For a beach cottage feel, make your own sea glass tray for under $15. It is a perfect place to display plants, fresh flowers, your shell collection, or vintage pieces.
For some added details to your cottage home, frame your windows and paint the frames white.
AND of course, add a chandelier. A chandy can add ambiance and romantic feel. (I see them all the time at thrift stores and consignment shops.) With a little paint, and a few crystals they are a beautiful way to add a cottage feel to any room.
How To Add a Cottage Look is simple, fresh and fun. Let your creativity and imagination run wild. Enjoy the process.
AND, before you leave I have the WINNER of the $100 Gift Card to Ginny’s.
Congratulations Therese! I have emailed you and you have 24 hours to claim your prize! Yay!!
Make it a marvelous Monday Blues.

Thank you for including my apothecary cabinet. I love the look it helps create and how it became a focal point in my guest bathroom, which needed a bit of a cottage feel.
