How To Make A Glittery Christmas Tree

November 27, 2015 By Meegan 7 Comments

Hey everyone! Are you looking for something fun and creative for your Christmas decorating? I was too, so I thought I would show you How To Make A Glittery Christmas Tree with a shine.

I am excited to be a part of the Christmas Blitz from Makeit:Fun. So what better way to have a Christmas Blitz than to learn How To Make A Glittery Christmas Tree using FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam.

This is now one of my favorite Christmas decorations.

How To Make a Yarn Wrapped Glittery Christmas Tree

As most my own crafts are-this is easy and looks great for any style or home.

The components for my Glittery Christmas tree are:

12 inch cone from FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam

5 yards of white yarn-any size weight is fine (But, the thicker the better)

mod podge

 FloraCraft® Diamond Dust™

star ornament as a topper, if needed

foam brush

Yarn Wrapped Floracraft Cone

My first step was to wrap the FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam cone with white yarn. The first layer of yarn was wrapped perfectly straight. I covered the cone with making sure each strand was touching the last one in a straight line.

Once the whole cone was covered. I randomly wrapped the yarn around the cone about 3 times.

Using the foam brush, I “painted” the mod podge on the yarn, a little bit at a time. While the mod podge was still wet. I sprinkled on the FloraCraft® Diamond Dust™.

Once the whole “tree” was covered with FloraCraft® Diamond Dust™, I allowed it to dry for 24 hours.

It looks beautiful, doesn’t it?

As a little extra, I hot glued a star Christmas ornament to the top of my “tree”.
