What, you are asking?? If Grandpa was a blogger?? What kind of title is that??
Well, the other day Hubby and I went antiquing. We walked around for hours. While walking around I realized I had so many of the same things that are being sold at antique stores. It was fun, looking at the prices, and enjoying other people’s things.
Once I got home, I wanted to set out some of the things that I now own from my grandparents. As I was putting my coffee table together for my January decor, I thought, “If Grandpa was a blogger”, his desk might look something like this:
He would need a phone close by so he could text and share on Instagram…Oh wait!
Grandpa would need his digital watch to keep track of time, his contacts so he could see the computer screen, look up his spelling on spell check, and his poetry book to look for ideas. Uh oh!!!
Grandpa would need a computer so he could send the html to his blog site, and email his sponsors. While browsing through Twitter and Facebook he could smoke his pipe…Um, no….
Grandpa would need a oscillating fan to stay cool. He would also need a digital camera to be able to have pictures on his blog.
Yep, that is what he would need if Grandpa was a blogger…
These items were all my Grandpa’s except for the phone and the poetry book. I bought the phone at PB because my Grandparents had a phone just like it in their kitchen, so I wanted one to remind me of them. The poetry book is actually Hubby’s Grandpa’s while he was “courting” Grandma. (Cute, huh?)
I am so happy you came by today!! It is a beautiful way to start a new year. I am excited about the new year and all it holds in store for us. My hope is that you feel the same.

This is such a wonderful post, I really enjoyed it. I have also inherited a lot of wonderful things from my grandparents and I love having the pieces around my home. I think it’s a reminder how much has changed over the year, but how sometimes the most basic things are truly the best and stand the test of time. Thank you for sharing!

I loved this post! My grandfather actually was an old fashioned version of a blogger…he worked at a newspaper, chronicled his whole life in daily journals, and wrote newsy letters to all the extended family throughout his life on a typewriter just like that one. I’m not sure what ever happened to his typewriter, but I sure wish I had it. ;)
