My Vintage Shelves

April 4, 2013 By Meegan 11 Comments

After Easter was over, I decided to change my shelves.  I like to use them a focal point.  They are one of the first things you see as you walk in in our home.  So it is fun to change them up and move things around.  This time was no exception.  I am calling these my vintage shelves because the items look vintage.  They may not really be vintage.  But, it works for me. (hehe)

Actually a lot of these things are either from Hobby Lobby or the thrift store.  Score!!

Would you like to tour my vintage shelves??  Alrighty then, let’s get going!!

Vintage ShelvesThey are filled with things I love.

Vintage ShelvesOn the top you will find a finial that I purchased at HL.  Gotta love HL!!  I just love the colors and the aged, vintage look.  The candlesticks are both thrift finds that I painted with a flat white paint.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe large frame is usually hanging in the TV Room (which is now an office, a reveal on that coming soon!!)  The stenciled  fleur de lis is a project I hung in the guest bathroom for awhile. For now they look happy on my vintage shelves.

Vintage ShelvesThe bottom shelf holds another fur elise frame, along with an apothecary jar, family subway art (sorry, I don’t know where I got it-I found it long before I had a blog), and a silver candlestick that is a thrift find.  The door knob plate is also a HL find.  Love the color and detail.

Vintage ShelvesI love the feel of vintage with whites, blues, greens, and a little silver.  That must be why I like these shelves so much!!

Vintage ShelvesThis apothecary jar is a thrift find.  I like it filled with dried hydrangeas.

Do you have shelves or a mantel you like to decorate??

Vintage ShelvesThese shelves just make me smile!!  They have the colors, feel, and style I like.

I hope my shelves have inspired you to decorate your shelves, mantel or bookshelves this week!!

Thanks for letting me share my vintage shelves with you today!!  I love when you visit and leave a comment.  It makes my day!!  It REALLY does!!

I’ve Got The Monday Blues

April 8, 2013 By Meegan 6 Comments

You gotta love Mondays!!  Even if you’ve got the Monday Blues, like I do!  This week I am thrilled to be sharing some unique ideas and creativity with blues.  Don’t you just love people with so much talent??  I sure do!!  They make me smile, inspire me and my own creativity.

I found each one of the blues over on Hometalk.  Which is a site for all of your home decor, gardening, and home maintenance ideas and solutions.  You are gonna love it when you visit over there!!

And, let the Monday Blues begin!!!

First off let’s start with this lovely blue table!!  This vintage table has been updated with blue paint, and looks fabulously done.  The worn look is perfect for this style and aged table.  It also is a great addition in Kimber’s home.

This table blew my mind!!  It was a full table and was transformed into a smaller side table.  Again, the aged blue paint looks amazing on this style!!  And then the stenciling-Love it!!bmDSCN34461South of France Furniture Studio

This gorgeous blue buffet was refreshed by Atta Girl Says.  I LOVE the white accents on the buffet. Along with additions of more white and silver; including the mirror, plant pot, and candlesticks.  She is SO talented.  You will want to be sure to check out more of her ideas and creativity!!bmvcrwb8dpsee761cz46v35023229c0dce1AttaGirlSays

Okay, you are not going to believe it, but this blue ottoman was spray painted blue!!  I know!!  How gorgeous is that??  Absolutely amazing!!  Visit  The DIY Village for all the details!!bmphoto-30-1024x705The DIY Village

The Dedicated House spray painted her wicker loveseat for a nice refresh for the upcoming Summer months.  And along with a new seat cover, she is set!!  Blue Awesomeness!!

Lastly, Vintage Charm Restored decoupaged the front of her drawers on this pretty blue desk.  Doesn’t it look updated and trendy, now??  Vintage Charm Restored has many more samples of her blues.  You will love them as much as I did!!

Mother’s Day Ideas

April 24, 2013 By Meegan 4 Comments

Mother’s Day will be here before we know it.  Do you have any Mother’s Day Ideas yet? I thought I would share a few ideas I have today:

amothersdayPicMonkey Collage

Mothers day ideasAbove you will see a moss candle holder, a moss candle and a moss vase all made with Dollar Tree items.  The total cost was $2.  Moss works for anyone’s taste or style.  These will be a big hit.

Mothers dayWhat Mom could resist a French Silk Pie from scratch? Rich, creamy and delicious.

mothers dayWhat about a bowl full of succulents as a gift?  Succulents will grow anywhere.  Perfect for those of us who even have a black thumb.

Mothers dayMake your own designed vase or frame for your mom.  I used FolkArt glass paints for each of these projects.  Easy to use and be your own artist.

Mothers dayVisit your local floral market and design a lovely bouquet.  Then place it in a mason jar tied with twine.  Easy and super cute.

My Friday Fave PinsUsing twine wrap a monogram or paint and stencil one.  These are a great idea for anyone.

I have had fun sharing my Mother’s Day gift ideas with you today.  I hope I have inspired you to make something special for the Mom(s) in your life.

Thanks for following and for joining me everyday!  You are awesome.
