Happy Tuesday everyone!! isn’t it a beautiful day? I am just smiling today because I made a DIY Silver Shell Candle Holder. It was so easy and looks fresh and Summery.
I am also smiling because my 89 year old FIL is here for a few days. He really is amazing. He still drives, makes his own meals, and travels (a little). We have always enjoyed each other. He is my companion for the next day or so while Hubby is working.
ANYWAY, I need to tell you about my DIY Silver Shell Candle Holder. I was sitting out at the pool browsing through my Pottery Barn Summer catalog. And, I saw a gorgeous silver shell.
Since I am in the process of making over our balcony, these DIY Silver Shell Candle Holders would be just the touch I need.
I have enough shells to use for our inside decor, now it’s time to use them outside.
I started with a couple of larger shells. Not too big. But large enough to hold a tea light candle.
Placing my shells in a paper bag, I spray painted them with Krylon Colormaster Metallic paint. (This paint is great because it dries in 15 minutes or less) Looking good so far, huh??? I am already so excited!!
Once the shells were dry, I was ready to use them as shell candle holders.
I found some citronella tea lights in my fave colors at TJMaxx. Score!
Using blue or red candles, they would be ideal for July 4th. Beautiful on any party buffet, right?
Not only could I use them for candles, but for colored marbles as well. I love this look, too.
Using my new DIY Silver Shell Candle Holder make me smile. They are the look I was hoping for. Don’t you love when you are inspired by others? Like looking through the PB catalog, and a light bulb went on in my head-“Hey I know what I can do!”
I hope my DIY Silver Shell Candle Holders make you smile too.
Enjoy this gorgeous Summer day.
