How To Hang A Vintage Ladder as Home Decor

January 7, 2015 By Meegan 3 Comments

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a wonderful week.  Are you adjusting from the Holidays being over?  Do YOU have ALL of your Christmas decorations put away?  I thought I did until I looked at our living room window…

MY new vintage ladder from Decor Steals is hanging with Christmas decorations.  (OOOPS!)

I KNOW, you are thinking, what is she doing NOW???

Ladder

Today I want to show YOU How To Hang a Vintage Ladder as Home Decor.

It’s easy and looks amazing for cottage, farmhouse, rustic, or even an industrial style home.

What you will need:

4- 3 inch screw-in hanging hooks

4 yards of jute

1 vintage ladder

measuring tape

pencil

First of all I was really impressed with this purchase.  (NO, I am NOT getting paid or compensated for this, AT ALL)

The ladder is rustic, imperfect, and HEAVY! Just what I was hoping for.

Okay let’s get to How To Hang A Vintage Ladder as Home Decor…

Step one:

Measure the width and length of your ladder

Step 2:

Decide where you want to hang your ladder.

Step 3:

Mark the measured spots with a pencil, for accurate spacing.

Step 4:

Screw in your hooks, making sure they are securely set.

Step 5:

Measure the jute into 4 even strings.

Step 6:

Loop the ladder with the jute. And hang on the hooks.

Step 7:

Add some personality to your ladder.

Mine was filled with fairy lights, frosted branches and homemade sparkly ornaments for Christmas.

I would have to say, the fairy lights are my absolute favorite.

They are battery operated.

Ideal for the vintage ladder, don’t you think?

NOW, I am working on what I should hang up there for Winter.

I am thinking, maybe a few baskets filled with sticks, icicles, snowflakes, AND the fairy lights (for sure).

Leave me a comment and let me know what your ideas are.

I would LOVE to hear them.

I am always appreciative for your time.

Make it a wonderful Wednesday.

I can see how you will have so much fun decorating this for any season. The look does blend with most styles and gives interest to the 5th”wall”.
