If you have seen my other Fall decorating blog posts, you know that I love Unique Fall Decorating with Vintage Pieces. Everything from a lavender and white tablescape, a bicycle rim wreath, a faux book page pumpkin centerpiece , kitchenware for Fall decorating and much more.
Today it’s all about using unique Fall decorating with my vintage typewriter, peonies, pumpkins and greenery.
I am excited to show you what I have created with simple components.
This post is a collaboration with the Thrifty Style Team hosted by Julie from Redhead Can Decorate. Every second Friday of the month each one of us share a thrifty idea for your home or family.
I will share each of the links below, at the bottom of this post for you to see ALL the amazing ideas for this month.
Let’s get started with another unique way to decorate for Fall. You could use this as a centerpiece for entertaining, on your front porch surrounded by pumpkins and cornstalks, or as a garden decoration. The ideas are limitless.
I am using my mom’s vintage typewriter. She had this when she was in high school and I am lucky enough to own it now.
To make your own Vintage Typewriter for Fall you will need:
1 vintage typewriter
1 brooch (I used one from my stash)
2 or more faux pumpkins (color of your choice)
Start off by dividing the faux greenery into 3 pieces. Laying each piece in different directions as displayed in the pictures above and below. This is the beginning base for this unique Fall decorating idea.
Next add your peony and lavender stems to the right side of the typewriter for color and depth.
See how it’s coming together?
Place the small faux pumpkins on the left for a Fall look. I like using real stems with my faux pumpkins for a more realistic look.
One of the final touches-tuck in the faux succulent next to the peony.
For the “frosting on the cake” add a sparkly brooch in-between everything.
This is a gorgeous and unique Fall décor piece for any style or esthetic. Where would YOU place a decorated typewriter like this?
Today, I am using mine as a centerpiece for Fall buffet tea party. Pretty with my new lavender floral tea cups and saucers, don’t you think?
You could also add fairy lights, baby’s breath, reindeer moss, whatever you have to make it your own.
I can’t wait to hear your comments and thoughts about my newly decorated Fall typewriter. It was a fun project just using my own creativity. That’s what makes creating so fun, isn’t it?

This is really, really pretty Meegan! I can’t stop looking at it. I think this may be one of my favorite vignettes of yours but they are all so lovely.

First, I love that this typewriter belonged to your mom. Second, I love how you decorated it for fall. Adding the vintage brooch was the perfect finishing touch.

This turned out quite lovely. I must be about your mother’s age. I learned to type on a Royal just like this in high school and the press room at the University of Missouri School of Journalism from which I graduated was also fortified with the same typewriters. I continued to use these in my early career right up until correcting Selectrics were introduced. I still type about 100 wpm! Your centerpiece brought back some good memories.
