If you have been following me for any length of time, you know that I am trying to bring the color tones in our home lighter and airier. It is a fun job, and causes me to create and try new ideas all the time. AND, I love the color blue. If it’s blue, I need to have it or find a way to make it work in our home.
Since I LOVE blue so much-I thought it would be FUN to have a “Monday Blues” post every Monday. Then I can share what I love and what I love to do.
My Invitation to you:
I would like to invite you to share your “Monday Blues”, too. Email me YOUR “Blue” pictures or ideas, and I will be glad to share them the following Monday!! My email is: whatmeeganmakes{at}gmail {dot}com I am excited to see what you “Blues” you have to share!! If you email me in html format-that would work best.
Here is “My VERY FIRST Monday Blues”:
This is what I did in a small space in our bedroom that was something simple but made a BIG difference:
This was a little maple stained table from my grandparents. I painted the table white, then painted over it with light blue craft paint-yep, craft paint. I really like how the white comes through as well as the wood after I sanded it.
I found the Mason jar for a $1 at the thrift store then filled it with Grandma’s button cards. I LOVE that they all still have buttons attached.
I painted the bamboo pot, and tied twine around it. I painted the terracotta pot white with some paint that I found for $1 on the “Oops Table” at Home Depot-SCORE!!
I like numbers. I am not sure why, but I like them. I wanted a number on this pot. The number 9 sticks out for me-we have 7 children, then with Hubby and me makes 9. Awesome! No.9 it is.
I simply practiced making a No.9 on a piece of paper. When I got enough courage to use a permanent marker and wrote No.9. Yep, that simple and that easy!

Love the planter with the #9. I always wonder why people pick the # that they use. Too funny, I just picked up a vase that has #5 on it. I thought since I was sister #5 it was perfect.
