One week until Thanksgiving! Are you ready? There is still time to make and add this cute and easy garland and add it to your mantel, shelves, or buffet table. It’s so easy and fun!

*This post was updated November 2025.
Okay, so here we go:
For this garland I used 50 pages from a book I bought from the thrift store for 75 cents. SCORE!!
I folded each page into a fan, making the page into quarters or fourths. (It only takes 3 folds to make the page into quarters) I found the middle of the page and using a hole punch made a hole.
I used about 2 yards of twine and threaded my “fans” through each hole. Easy!

You can see that each page opens up, just like a fan. You could make it tighter with more pages or use less. Whatever you like best. That’s the best part-you can make it your own.
Isn’t she pretty? You could also use scrapbook paper for a colored garland as birthday decorations. Cute idea?
OR you could even add colored coffee filters, like I did for our son’s wedding!
So which one are you going to make?? You could even keep it up through Christmas-which I think I am going to do.
Thanks for stopping by today. Make it a wonderful Thursday!

I wonder if you could string wire and then form it into a circle for a wreath?
