Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeWhat is a bagel without a smear?  I think I could even eat them without a bagel!  Each one is freshly made daily.

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeNow onto the sweets.  The seven layer cake and the red velvet cupcakes were making my mouth water just to look at them.

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeReally?  Homemade twinkies!  Yay!  They are each filled with fresh cream.  Can you say delish?

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeThere is every filling and flavor of Rugulah you could want.  Chocolate, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, etc…

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeDelicious cookies filled and dipped with Chocolate!!

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeThey call these “Mini” cheesecakes, but they look pretty big to me!  And don’t miss the cannolis on the shelf underneath!

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeThe large eclairs.  What else can I say? The picture says it all.

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeWe opted for the small eclairs, which were not small at all.

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeEach eclair was filled with freshly made bavarian cream.  And frosted with a most delightful layer of chocolate frosting.  Melt in your mouth goodness.

Field Trip Friday-The Bagel CafeWe also bought the last slice of Buttercream Chocolate Cake.  Really??  The freshness of the moist cake, the creamy chocolate frosting layered together.  It was heavenly goodness!!

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

July 5, 2013 By Meegan 1 Comment

Hello Hello!  How was your holiday?  Ours was really fun and filled with lots of fireworks.  And now it’s time for Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas!!

What is most incredible about this hotel?  There is a full living garden at the end of the lobby!  It is larger than life and changes for the seasons, sometimes even monthly. The garden is manicured and is gorgeous beyond compare.

So, let’s get started…

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

This is on the side entrance of the garden.  I knew you would like this finial .  Don’t you need one for your garden??  Do you see the kites flying in the air?  There are 100s filling the garden with color.

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

This is one of the many fountains and rivers in the garden, along with more kites.  And what about the larger than life Iceland poppy??  Not real, but lovely.

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

This snail was made with over 1500 flowers.  I am not a fan of snails, but this one is pretty darn cute.

Sunflowers always make me smile, and these were no exception.  I love how they always face the sun.

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

Yes, that is a life sized tree house, pioneer wagon and olive tree!  It is amazing how the garden is filled with so much to look at and smell.

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

There were rows and rows of beautifully colored hydrangeas waiting for me to take their picture.

Can you tell I was loving the sunflowers?

This building is a menagerie filled with 100s of birds of every shape size and color.  From vibrant reds to the bluest of blues.

This guy was my favorite.  I believe he is a canary.  He was happy to pose for me.  Then he flew off to eat.

I know, a water fall!!  The sound of water flowing in any garden is relaxing, isn’t it?

And, then there was a lighthouse!  With real windows and doors.  Of course there is a river running by it, in pure Bellagio fashion.

Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas

Can you guess what this is?  First of all, it is my favorite part of the hotel.  It is the ceiling in the lobby.  Amazingly gorgeous!  No two are alike in color or shape.  Each “umbrella” is hand-blown glass made by one artist.

Thanks for joining me for Field Trip Friday-The Bellagio, Las Vegas.  I hope you can visit there one time yourself and experience the sights and sounds of the living garden.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Field Trip Friday-To The Farmers Market

June 28, 2013 By Meegan 4 Comments

It’s Field Trip Friday-To The Farmers Market here on my blog!  And I am so excited to share this field trip that I went on while I was in Oregon.  I have shared many others with you here, and here.  I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did!!

First of all, do you have a farmers market in your town?  Do you go often?  I have a tiny one here, and I love it.  But, I SO wish I had one like this close to me.  I would be there just to taste the samples and envelope all of the sights, sounds, and smells.  It is truly an experience in and of it self.

Okay, let’s go to the Field Trip Friday-Farmers Market…

I walked miles and miles to get there…Actually less than 1/2 a mile!!  How awesome is that??  It was a beautiful sunny day in Oregon.  Everyone was in shorts with their sunglasses on.  You could feel the excitement and hope of Summer.

Field Trip Friday-To The Farmers Market

Isn’t this just gorgeous??  Stacks and stacks of asparagus waiting to be roasted with olive oil and salt!!

The Farmers Market is held in the town square.  The local rock band is playing, the splash pad is on for the kids, and the smells of baked goods, tacos, and gyros fill the air.

Several floral growers were there making bouquet after bouquet.  They were being bought just as fast as the workers could make them.

I just couldn’t get over the variety and all of the floral colors.

These baskets are so amazing, aren’t they?  Would they be even more amazing if I told you they were hand made by one woman??  Yes, indeed they were.  She was making even more while I watched.  She was meticulous and talented at her craft.

I mentioned yesterday how much I like jewelry.  So, I could resist looking at this handmade jewelry either.

The homemade treats were displayed up and down the street.  Samples for everything from hummus to sweet breads to waffle sandwiches.  I am glad I didn’t have breakfast.  I was full before my walk back home..

Field Trip Friday-To The Farmers Market

Isn’t this the perfect Farmers Market picture?  Beautiful ripe strawberries in colorful blue baskets says, “Farmers Market”, don’t you think?

The goods I brought home to my daughter’s:  Scratch Lemon shortbread cookies, Razzleberry Pie (made from scratch by “the Pie Guy”), butter lettuce, zucchini, asparagus, radishes, spinach, and a huge bouquet of peonies.

Field Trip Friday-To The Farmers Market

I have to tell you about this lovely peony bouquet.  As I walked up to the Farmers Market, these eye catching peonies drew me in.  I knew we needed some.  At $5 a bouquet, how could I resist.  That was for the lighter pink peonies.

I asked them to keep them there while I walked around.  When I was done with my shopping I came back to pick up my bouquet.  The couple handed me all of these flowers because 2 of the peonies had crumbled apart while I was gone.  So, the gave me a WHOLE other bouquet, too!!  I was touched and it added to the whole ambiance of the Farmers Market.

I was excited to share my Friday Field Trip-To The Farmers Market with you today!  It was a wonderful time having you here.  Come back again soon.
