My Visit to The Old Lucketts Store-Part Two

October 25, 2019 By Meegan Leave a Comment

After sifting through at least 300 pictures, I am thrilled to share My Visit to The Old Lucketts Store-Part Two. It is such a fun place to visit when you are in Virginia. It isn’t far from Washington, DC. Well, probably an hour and a half-ish away. And if you LOVE vintage style, like I do, you don’t want to miss out.

If you would like to see Part One, visit here.

I am actually going to make this series into to 4 or 5 parts. Only because I have so much to share.

My Visit To The Old Lucketts Store-Part One

October 9, 2019 By Meegan 1 Comment

I may have mentioned that we have family that lives in Virginia. I have been blessed enough to have visited them several times, now. I love seeing the grand-babies and exploring while I am there. Everything from historical monuments, gardens, cemeteries, plus lots of antique stores and beautiful restaurants.

Shortly after I started my blog, I had heard about The Old Lucketts Store. But I NEVER thought I would have a chance to visit. Let alone go here more than once in one trip to Virginia. BUT, I did the last few weeks and I am excited to share with you My Visit To The Old Lucketts Store-Part One.

Yes, part one, because there is SO much to see. I literally could spend hours upon hours there. And I think you could, too.

Parmesan Crusted Salmon Recipe

July 10, 2019 By Meegan Leave a Comment

It’s been busy here the past few months. With moving, organizing, and planning our family beach trip, I have been missing from my blog. It was a much needed break. But, I am back and ready to share my own version of a Parmesan Crusted Salmon Recipe.

I wish I could take full credit for this recipe, BUT, I did find it at a teeny tiny restaurant in Boulder City, Nevada.

Moving Into My New Cottage In The Desert

May 21, 2019 By Meegan 3 Comments

Hi everyone! I have neglected to tell you about Moving Into My New “Cottage In The Desert” apartment. I have been documenting the process, and gradually sharing it on my Instagram account, but haven’t been sharing it here on my blog.

Maybe not the best picture quality, but you can see my excitement! Wow, I have so much more space! It felt like a mansion in comparison.

Fifty and Over Experiences

October 25, 2017 By Meegan 14 Comments

It is interesting to be writing about my Fifty and Over Experiences. Especially, since I am almost 60. Well, I turned 59 three months ago. Does that count as almost 60?

Last year, around this time, I wrote a similar post. It is fascinating to go back and read my thoughts. Even though it was just a year ago. My perspective has changed, matured and I have much clearer view of what I want my life to be.

Staying Healthy Over Fifty

December 13, 2016 By Meegan 3 Comments

I am 50+ with an active lifestyle, including walking, swimming and working out in our pool. I keep healthy and strong by eating well. I also shy away from processed foods, which is also a great help. Staying Healthy Over Fifty has been a quick and necessary life style change for us.

Two years ago, my husband had an emergency quadruple by-pass. This was both scary and eye opening for both of us. You see, he has been active for years, not only as a championship high school referee, but also as a bicyclist.

When You are Fifty and Over

September 14, 2016 By Meegan 16 Comments

It is funny how time rolls on. Some days seem really fast and other times months seem like years. The past few years have gone by really fast for me. And before I realized it I am heading towards 60 really quick. Wow….When You are Fifty and Over…

For me, I look at it like 50 is the new 30. And 60 is the new 40. Even though I am older than 50, I am capable of doing pretty much everything I did when I was that age. Probably even better, now.

I mean, really, would YOU want to go back to your teens and 20s? Not me. AT ALL. I am so much smarter, wiser, experienced and self-confident. Don’t get me wrong. I still make mistakes. I still have problems arise, and I still have a lot to learn.

Tea with Dessert-A Family Tradition

February 5, 2016 By Meegan 17 Comments

Today I am excited to share a family memory with you. When I was young every Sunday my family would visit my grandparents. AND, we always enjoyed Tea with Dessert-A Family Tradition.

As I got older with a family of my own, the Sunday tradition changed. My grandparents and my mom would go out to dinner and then come to visit our family of four. We would have dessert every Sunday with them. My grandma would bake a cake or my mom would bring cookie and ice cream.

One thing was for certain. We always had tea for dessert.Continue Reading
