We, 3 Trees…

December 13, 2012 By Meegan 9 Comments

We, 3 trees of Orient are…Ooops!!  Wrong Christmas carol!! I should have said, “Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!!”  I just have Christmas trees on my mind.  I am loving my trees this year.   They are each similar, yet individual.  They are just right for us.

We, 3 trees...If I had to choose a favorite one-I don’t think I could.  They are all my fave for different reasons.

We, 3 trees...I love this one because of the glitter and the book pages mixed together.  And then there is the book page banner along with the burlap.  LOVE these different textures together!!

We, 3 trees...

AND, she looks fabulous in the guest bathroom!!

Our 2nd tree is in our TV Room.  I like this tree because the dusting of “snow “and the pine cones.

But I especially love the wooden box that she calls home.  Her star makes me smile.

Doesn’t she look happy with my book page garland, the vintage sleds, and the family gallery??  Like she was meant to be there!!

And, our 3rd tree is placed in our bedroom.  One reason is that we don’t have enough room in our living room.  The other reason is that I like the fact when you gaze through our home at first glance, you can spot her sitting on my vanity.

We, 3 trees...I flocked her, and was excited to place her under my chandelier.  I had fun decorating her with white, gold, and blue.  I love icicles and snow flakes, too.

We, 3 trees...The gold ornaments are vintage, as well as the cherubs.  The Nativity was bought a long time ago, when we had been married just a few years.

So, you see.  How could I ever pick a favorite tree??  They are all just the right size and decorated in the right colors for our home.  Hmmm…I am already thinking about next year-is that weird????   We, 3 trees, I mean Oh Christmas tree, oh…..

Twelve Under $3 Christmas Decorating Ideas

December 8, 2012 By Meegan 21 Comments

I looked around our home and realized that I have Twelve under $3 Christmas decorating ideas!!  How cool is that?? Since I have so many, I thought I would share them with you, too!!

Chalkboards are such a fun trend right now-so make these super easy ones.  Using clothes pins you can put them anywhere, even on your tree!!

Decorate a paper mache’ ornament.  They are on sale everywhere right now!!  I know you already have paint and glitter.

Buy a book from the thrift store.  Roll up some cones and make a banner with stamps.  Easy!!

Use an old pickle jar, fill it with Epsom salts and place your tiny Christmas figurines in it.  Tie some twine around it, and even add a wire handle!!

Add some white and sparkle with a cotton ball tree!!  Simple and a great craft for the kiddos, too!!

Using another paper mache’ ornament, mod podge your torn book pages to it.  While it is still wet, sprinkle glitter on it!!  Looks like from PB don’t you think??

Flock your own tree!!  For a$1.50 you can buy “canned snow”.  I flocked 2 of our trees.  They look amazing!

Decorate your chandelier with greenery, sticks, pearls, and tulle.  Bring some of your icicle ornaments along, too.  Now your chandy is ready, too!

Copy some old Christmas Carole pages.  Tie some twine and clip with  a clothes pin to an empty frame. Wouldn’t this look great by a Nativity??

Make a book page garland to adorn around your tree!!  Super easy!!

Buy a couple of birdhouses to bring the outside, in!! Paint and glitter them up, and viola!!  Winter in your home!!

Speaking of bringing the outside in-bring in some old branches from a tree!  Hang some birdhouses and icicles on them and you are set!!

I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by my Under $3 Christmas Decorations!!  You can always make your home look nice without spending a lot of money.  It has been a delight for me to share them with you!!

Thanks for stopping by today and letting me share what I love to do!

My Christmas Snow Globe Tour

December 5, 2012 By Meegan 5 Comments

You are invited to:

My Christmas Snow Globe Tour

Date:

Today

Time:

Now

 The tour begins now…

Hubby has been collecting and admiring snow globes for years.  I have shared them with you here and here.

Each snow globe has a history and story behind it.  The most treasured, necessarily are not the most expensive.

Nestled in-between each set of snow globes are Christmas figurines from the 40s.

We have purchased snow globes from Costco to Hobby Lobby to Card Stores to Christmas shops.

These little cuties adorned Grandma’s piano every Christmas.

The silver one in this group was a gift from a dear friend.  The train conductor was the first one I purchased for Hubby 28 years ago.  As the music plays, the conductor turns around.

These are my favorite Christmas Cuties!!  I love that they kiss!!  So sweet!

More gorgeous globes!!  The Santa globe runs on batteries.  It plays music and blows snow.  That is the grand kiddos fave globe.

More kissing cuties!!

Lastly these were all given to Hubby from me.  His goal is to have enough for each grand kiddo to receive one when they get married.  Isn’t that such a sweet idea?

Thanks for taking My Christmas Snow Globe Tour!!  You are welcome to bring friends and family anytime!

Thanks for reading my blog each day!  I hope you leave inspired and excited to make your home full of memories.
