Adding a Mirror To Create More Space

July 30, 2014 By Meegan 8 Comments

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!  How is your week going?  Are you surviving the Summer heat?  I have been going to the pool everyday.  It has been the ideal way to keep cool and refreshed this week.

In-between dips in the pool, I have been re-organizing and moving things around in our home.  I am constantly moving things to make our home more comfortable and cohesive for a small space.  One way I did that in our living room was by Adding a Mirror To Create More Space.

Adding a Mirror To Create More Space

Don’t get me wrong, our living room is the perfect size for the two of us.  But I am always looking for innovative ways to create a larger, open space.

This is the view as I sit on our sofa.  I like it.  It looks inviting and comfortable, right?

BUT, while I was out thrifting and found this large mirror.

The creative juices started flowing.  I could hang that mirror above the book-case, to create more space in our living room. I knew for a fact I wanted to paint it. (I know, BIG surprise, right???)  I chose Summer Sonnet.

You will also notice that I purchased a new chair.  This one doesn’t have arms, which creates more space as well. But that is for a post next week…

When I purchased the mirror, it was completely apart from the frame and back.  (I am sad I don’t have a picture-I was cleaning out my picture file a little too much, I guess)

BUT, with A LOT of Gorilla Glue and Liquid Nails, I was able to adhere the mirror, frame and back together for a functioning mirror.

Our living room now looks more open.  The mirror has also added more height in the room.

Adding a Mirror To Create More Space

I am loving our new mirror.  But most of all. Adding a Mirror To Create More Space was a great choice in our living room.

I hope you have been inspired today.  Whether it was to shop at thrift stores, or adding a mirror to your home, I hope you leave here ready to create your own personal space.

Thanks for being here and make it a wonderful Wednesday.

This is such a great idea Meegan! I love mirrors too and use them a lot in my decorating, usually propped up so I can move them to another location when I want to! Yours looks great above your shelf display – perfect spot!! Have a great evening ;)
