DIY Aqua and Red Christmas Wreath

December 12, 2025 By Meegan Leave a Comment

Recently you have heard a lot about my thrifted aqua ornament find for $5. Having over 100 aqua ornaments, it’s been fun to get the creative juices going and that includes a DIY Aqua and Red Christmas Wreath.

I just really like how it turned out and the festive look for the apartment cottage front door.

Below is a simple tutorial, with a list and links for you to design your own wreath.

What you will need to make your own DIY Aqua and Red Christmas Wreath:

Frosted Wreath

3 yards Red Velvet Ribbon

1 yard Pink Holly Leaves

7 Aqua Christmas Bulbs

10 Christmas Ornament Hooks

2 Glittery Pinecone Ornaments

This is a wreath I have used for several years. It’s 20 inches in width.

To attach the bulbs and ribbon you will need ornament hooks. Especially if you only want this style for just this year. Then the components aren’t permanent.

Start off by tying a long tailed bow using 1 inch red velvet ribbon. Do this by making a shoelace bow with 3 yards (just like you do when tying your tennis shoes) with small loops and long tails.

Attach the ribbon with one of the ornament hooks.

Cut as many pink holly leaf sprigs as YOU like. Tuck them in-between the branches of your wreath. I typically use odd numbers of components for a balanced look. *This is a tip that florists use when making floral arrangements.

Using an ornament hook, hang two glittery pine cones on your wreath. WHERE EVER YOU want to put them is perfect. It’s YOUR wreath, so do what you like.

Next gather your aqua ornaments.

Hang them on the ornament hooks. I chose to hang three on each hook, to make clusters.

That’s it! You are finished. Your  DIY Aqua and Red Christmas Wreath is ready for your front door, to give as a gift or to use as a centerpiece.

I hope you have time to make your own DIY Aqua and Red Christmas Wreath soon. Please let me know if you do! I would love to see YOUR creativity and ideas.

Have a great day and try to enjoy the Christmas season “busyness”.
