Hello Hello!!  Don’t you just love a Tuesday?  I sure do!  I am finally awake after my sluggish Monday, and ready to tackle the week.  I am really excited to share my DIY Shell Art with you today.

A few weeks ago I shared my Beach Inspired Memory Jar.  You know I love any kind of shell, sand or any item that reminds me of my favorite place to be, right?

I am also working on making some areas in our home a little more masculine, so Hubby feels like he lives here, too.  This is a project that accomplishes both of our wants and likes.

I was excited to create my own DIY Shell Art.

Especially after seeing something similar at TJ Maxx and Pier 1.

I gathered my components: vintage frames, burlap, and shells.

Mine shell collection is pretty vast, so I needed to decide which beauties I wanted to display.

First of all, I painted each frame white, and sanded the edges.

I took the back off of the frame. Using hot glue, I attached the burlap, tightly to the card stock.

Again, using hot glue, I attached my shells to the burlap.  I know it sounds crazy to use hot glue, but it really works!

For the second frame, I decided make sort of an ombre’ look, using various shades of the same kind of shell.

Voila!  Two new frames showcasing my shells with a touch of masculinity by using burlap as a background.

An east project that is ideal for anywhere in our home.

What do you think of my DIY Shell Art?  Hubby is impressed how I can bring a touch of his look into our home, without losing the look I am trying to create.  Mission accomplished-so far.

Let me know if you create DIY Shell Art for your home.  I would love to see it!

Thanks for stopping by today.
