DIY Spring Handbag Centerpiece

March 29, 2018 By Meegan 3 Comments

A few week’s ago I share my Pastel Spring Tablescape. I think my favorite part of the whole table was my DIY Spring Handbag Centerpiece.

There are affiliate links embedded in my blog post. I will receive a commission off of any of your purchases without any extra cost to you.

I thought it would be really fun to show you how to make your own.

For little, to NO cost.

To make your own DIY Spring Handbag Centerpiece, you will need:

*straw handbag

*faux flowers

*faux greenery

*a sheer scarf

*imagination

I found my straw handbag at Dillard’s last year.

And, my faux peonies are from Walmart.

I made my DIY Spring Handbag Centerpiece in just a few easy steps. With the idea that it was not a permanent piece. Then I could still use it as my Spring/Summer handbag.

I placed the faux flowers in first. Using the theory of “3s”. You can learn more about that here.

The premise is that odd numbers work best in creating a floral arrangement. For height, balance and weight.

I tucked in 3 stems of greenery between the flowers. Making sure I could still see the lovely beaded handle. (Isn’t it stunning?)

For more texture and interest, I tied a sheer scarf onto the side of the straw handbag. It is a vintage scarf from my mom. I like how the colors blend, but aren’t exact tones.

Also in the above picture, you can see that I added a stem of white hydrangeas. This gives a fuller look. As I always say, “If you like it, then it is perfect.” So, if you want the fuller style, add more.

What I like most about it, is that there isn’t another centerpiece like this anywhere. I used my imagination to create a one of a kind DIY Spring Handbag Centerpiece.

There are so many other ideas YOU can come up with, too. Maybe you already have a handbag that you would like to use, different color flowers, add some sticks or greenery from your trees. There are so many options to choose from.

I hope I have helped you a little to get your own creative juices flowing.  Post a picture of YOUR own handbag centerpiece, using the hashtag #styleandmake on my Instagram page. I would love to feature you!

Thanks for stopping by and making my day brighter.
