It is with much excitement that I join this year’s Home for the Holidays blog tour sponsored by Sondra Lyn at Home! This is the 3rd year for her HFTH tour, and we promise to bring some of the most awesome decor, craft and recipe ideas you’ll find anywhere. It has gotten bigger and better each year and I think you’re going to love what you see!
Today I am going to share our family favorite, Festive Lemon Jello Recipe. You probably haven’t ever tried this before, but I am sure you will enjoy it all year long.
Festive Lemon Jell-o Recipe
Ingredients:
1-large can crushed pineapple
1 large package lemon Jell-O
3 bananas-sliced
1-bag mini marshmallows
1 1/2 cups whip cream, whipped
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
Directions:
Drain crushed pineapple, save juice.
Prepare Jell-O in an
8×8 inch pan. Chill until almost set up.
Mix drained pineapple, sliced bananas, and mini marshmallows into Jell-O.
Set aside.
Cook 1 cup pineapple juice (add water to make 1 cup, if necessary) Dissolve 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in the juice. Cook on low until thickened. Cool down.
Fold mixture into whipped cream.
Spread onto Jell-O.
Top with grated sharp cheese.
Cover with plastic wrap and keep chilled until serving.
I know Festive Lemon Jell-o Recipe sounds unusual for a Holiday dessert. But, it is delicious and packed full of flavor for your Holiday meals and celebrations. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have through the years.

Oh, Meegan!!! Our family always have a jello salad or two for the holidays! My aunt is known for one that’s similar with cheese on top. It sounds different, but it’s amazing! They are a nice change from all the other desserts. I will be making yours this year. Thanks!

Well you blew me away with the cheese on top… but then again, I didn’t think I’d like salt on caramel a few years ago. I’m going to give this jello a try and surprise my kids :)
Merry Christmas sweetie xx

I grew up with dishes like this always on our holiday table. My mom and her sisters always called them salads and we laugh about it now because those tasty concoctions were clearly desserts. I can see why this recipe is a family favorite.
Leanne says

I have an apple salad recipe that I serve every Thanksgiving and Christmas and the main ingredients are lemon jello and cream cheese. My family loves it and I can hardly wait to try your lemon jello recipe. It looks delicious!
Lydia @ Lydi Out Loud says
This looks so delicious! My mom always makes a jello salad for Christmas but I’ve never seen anything like this recipe… you had me at cheese! ;)
Deborah says
I have done an apple cranberry type one before but this sounds delish.

Sounds like an amazing recipe to try this Christmas!

I really like lemon desserts; I don’t know why I’ve never thought of making them for the holidays! I am really intrigued by the combination of fruits and sharp cheddar. I need to give this a try ;)
Diane Miller says
I grew up with Jell-o salads, but haven’t made them in forever. Yours looks really fresh and a nice change from the heavier holiday foods. Now… tell us the back story on the cheddar… this is a first for me.

Well, I adore every ingredient, so I’m guessing I’m gonna love this one!!

Hi there,
In your recipe for the lemon jello salad in the ingredients list, you list half a cup of sugar and cornstarch but in the instructions you don’t include those items; what do we do with the sugar and cornstarch?
Meegan says
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have since edited the post. Combine the sugar and cornstarch into the pineapple juice. Thanks again!
