Hello hello! How are you doing? Today I am here to show you How To Stencil a Deer Pillow. In just a few easy steps you can have your own deer pillow to show off in your home OR to give as a gift.
Not only that…BUT there is a chance for a $50 gift card to Cutting Edge Stencils at the end of this post. Double the fun, right?
Isn’t this a festive pillow? Don’t you love all the details on the antlers and the yummy red tassels? Me, too!
There are so many Christmas and Holiday stencils to choose from. Cutting Edge Stencils has a great wide variety for the home, as well.
I chose the deer with Christmas lights on the antlers.
I received a pillow form, pillow cover, 4 tassels, and fabric paint.
I like this picture because you can see the details of the deer. I placed the stencil carefully centered on the pillow cover, with a cardboard between.
Just like I did with my Pumpkin Pillow, I carefully used my red fabric paint filling in with a stencil brush.
I was careful not to spread or smear the red paint on my white pillow. For this pillow I chose NOT to fill in the string of Christmas lights. I liked how it left a pattern on the antlers. Kind of a Southwest style.
I still needed to add my bright red tassels. Cutting Edge Stencils sent me a special hook to pull the tassels through my pillow.
I turned the pillow inside out. Using the hook I poked a tiny hole through the fabric and pulled the tassel top through. So it would stay secure, I tied a knot in the tassel once it was all the way through the fabric.
I just love this vibrant look for Christmas, don’t you? It was easy to show you How To Stencil a Deer Pillow.
But, what if you like a MORE subtle look? How about trying a metallic spray paint?
What?
Yep, I used a metallic silver spray paint on the opposite side of the pillow.
I looks great and isn’t stiff at all. Although I must say-You don’t need a lot of spray paint. It will “spread” on the fabric quickly, so use it sparingly.
AND, it also looks great with the red tassels! How festive is that?
