Monday Blues with Blue Chippiness

February 2, 2015 By Meegan 7 Comments

Happy Monday and WELCOME to I’ve Got The Monday Blues with Blue Chippiness.

I have been browsing all through Pinterest and Facebook to show you some of MY favorite “Blue Chippiness”.

I've Got The Monday Blues1

So let’s get started!

I have loved, love, loved putting this post together!  It has been awhile since I have taken so time to sit back and enjoy some lovely, chippy furniture.

I never even realized how much I liked chippy wood until I bought an armoire.  It was weathered mahogany.  The stain was chipped, and the door was a little warped.  I LOVED it.

My mother-in-law saw it and said,”You need to get that repaired.”  I told her, that’s how I like it.  It added character and personality.  And so it began, my love of chippy furniture.

What do you think or feel when you see a chippy blue dining table?  Are you ready to get out your paint brush or stain?

Or do you envelope what is placed before you?  Do you see it as a piece of art?

For me, the chippy paint and weathered wood tells a story.  It tells a history of each piece of furniture, door or table top.

It says it has been used.  It tells of family, work, hardship, and love.

Some might view it as my mother-in-law did.  That it needs repair, or fixing.  But not me.

I see patina. I see layers of life.
