Spring Peat Pot Craft

January 9, 2019 By Meegan 8 Comments

It is SO cold here, in Las Vegas. Yes, it really is, 30* almost every night. To get myself thinking about warmer, sunny days I made a Spring Peat Pot Craft.

It’s super simple and fun for a Spring party, tablescape or place card idea.

What you will need to make your own Spring Peat Pot Craft:

peat pots (I found mine at the dollar store)

1 yard of 2 inch wide sheer ribbon.

1 yard of 1/2 inch wide glittery ribbon

white spray paint (or your favorite color of craft paint)

skewers

real or faux greenery

floral foam, if desired

strong scissors, for cutting the skewers

Step one: Paint a peat pot.

Step two: When the peat pot is dry, add the floral foam into the bottom of your peat pots.

Step three: Add some fresh or faux greenery of your choice. I cut some trimmings from the boxwood bushes right outside our door. Use however much YOU like, to fit your style or taste.

Step four: Tie 1/2 yard ribbon around the rim of the peat pot. At this point, you can use either the wide, sheer ribbon OR the 1/2 inch glittery ribbon. You can either tie a square knot or a bow. It’s your preference.

Step five: Cut your skewers at 6-8 inch lengths. Again, this is just a gauge. Make them the length that best fits your style and desired look.

Step six: Cut an 8 inch length of 2 inch wide ribbon and tie at the (top) end of a skewer.

Step seven: Place the skewer in the middle of the peat pot and greenery.

And you are done!

I think it would also be cute with a name tag at the top of the skewer, too!

Also a great hostess gift for a Spring or Easter party.

It was a lot of fun to make my Spring Peat Pot Craft. The matching chocolate foils were an added bonus. The colors just say, “Spring!” to me. (I bought these colorful chocolate eggs at See’s Candy Shop.

Thanks for joining me and letting me share my Spring Peat Pot Craft. There are many more thrifty ideas from the Thrifty Style Team down below. This month there are so many things to be inspired by. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Make it an awesome day, my friends!
