Vintage Mason Jar and Birthday Flowers

July 16, 2014 By Meegan 1 Comment

Happy Wednesday my friends!  I am really happy to be here with you today.  It’s an exciting time for our family. We are having our family reunion this coming weekend.  The plans are filled with food, water, games, family time, food, family pictures, sand, food, and lots of hugs and kisses from the grand babies, oh!  Did I mention food?

I had a wonderful birthday last weekend.  I was spoiled by my hubby, friends and kids. I received these gorgeous flowers as a gift.  I used my floral tips, but once they started wilting, I still want to keep some around.

I like using a Vintage Mason Jar and Birthday Flowers to continue the celebration in our living room.

Sadly, the blue hydrangeas died first.  But, I still had some roses and tulips to work with.  One way I love to share flowers in my home is in a vintage mason jar.

I carefully pulled out the MOST wilted flowers. I knew exactly the look I wanted on my coffee table.

It always makes me sad to throw flowers away.

I used to save all the flowers I ever received.  I had dried floral bouquets hanging throughout our home.

And, now I like to use fresh flowers whenever I can.

I don’t even mind if a few petals fall off.  It lends the look of time softly passing by. (In my mind, anyway)

With a thrifted wire basket full of fire kindling, I added more texture and dimension.

Our magnifying glass, a grapevine sphere, along with a few books completes the look I was hoping for.

It’s a simple look using my Vintage Mason Jar and Birthday Flowers.  But it is JUST the right touch for our living room.

My thrifted cloche filled with a shell from Bermuda is another way to add texture to my coffee table.

Thanks for letting me share with you today.  I hope you have been inspired one way or another to bring a vintage and fresh look into your Summer home.

Before you leave, be sure to pay a visit to Christmas In July.  There are over 30 ideas to start your holidays right.
