I”ve Got The Monday Blues

November 19, 2012 By Meegan 14 Comments

It’s Monday!!  How was your weekend??  We were busy hosting an Open House for our son and his lovely bride.  We had amazing help, wonderful people visiting, and delicious food!!  I can’t wait to show you the pictures!!  But for now it’s time for “The Monday Blues“…

First off, This is from Sowdering about in Seattle:

Randi refreshed this dresser for her kids.  Don’t you just love this deep blue with the black drawers??  She also hand painted each knob.    So creative and talented!!  Thanks for sharing Randi!!  I look forward to having more blues from you very soon!!

Now for my own “Monday Blues“:

I've Got The Monday BluesI literally found this by our dumpster on a Saturday afternoon.  I was SO excited!! My Hubby was at work, so I called my neighbor, and he helped me haul it up upstairs to our place!  Woo!!  She was basically a frame of a dresser.  Not even a dresser!!

I knew I wanted to clean her up, fix her up, and use her for the wedding festivities.

I decided to prime her and then think about a color and style for her.

So what do you think?  From dumpster to wedding... Pretty good, huh??  I also added my book page garland for some texture.

I dry brushed BHG Teal Lake to add to the colors of the wedding.  I have used this same color in other places in our home as well.   All she needed was a little paint and some love.

She looked do pretty holding the drinks for the open house this past weekend!!

Not too bad for a freebie, huh??  I am excited to share “My Monday Blues” with you every week!  I hope you will be excited to share your blues with me as well.

Have a Blue Monday as you are getting ready for Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season!!

I will be seeing you on  Pinterest, Facebook, Hometalk, Google +, and Stumble Upon.

Thanks for featuring me!!! The best part about this dresser, is that the black paint is actually chalkboard paint, so as he grows I can re-label the drawers with sizes!

So exciting! Thanks again and I cannot wait to send in more “blues”!!!

Fabulous! I can’t even count the number of things we’ve “rescued” from the dumpsters in our alley and turned into awesome crafts or awesome pieces of furniture. One person’s trash… :-) Thanks for sharing at The Fun In Functional!
