Well, hello! How are you doing this fine day? Is your Summer filled with running around, or have you been able to rest and catch up on life? Mine is a little bit of both. I am enjoying family visits a brand new grand baby, swimming and a little thrifting. That is why I am here today. To tell you ALL about my Thrifted Silver Chalices.
If you remember, I finally found one a few months ago. Woot!
BUT, when I was thrifting 2 weeks ago I found a pair for $7...I think my heart ALMOST came out of my chest, I was so excited.
The patina is everything I hoped for and more.
Not to mention the quality. When I say these things are heavy-I am NOT exaggerating. I definitely would NOT want one to fall on my toes.
The insides are just as worn as the outside. I wondering what the first owners used them for? Were they REALLY used as a chalice? Or were they kept in a beautiful French hutch?
Yes they are real silver. (Maybe silver plated?) Regardless they are just what I had in mind to go along with the first silver cup/vase.
Part of me wants to polish them up, just to see how pretty they could be. BUT, the other part of me likes the aged and worn look. What would YOU do? Would you polish them?
For some reason I like the succulents placed in them for now. AND, I can’t wait to use each one as a vase in the near future. What flowers would you choose?
I think wild flowers would be awesome, OH!! OR peonies!
I KNEW you would be just as excited as I was to find my Thrifted Silver Chalices. Do YOU have silver chalices that were maybe a gift OR passed down through your family? Those are REAL treasures, aren’t they?
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my new thrifted find: My Thrifted Silver Chalices. If you would like to see MORE of my thrift finds visit here.
Make it a lovely day!

I love your chalices Meegan…. I once had silver wine goblets. They were not nice to drink from but made wonderful displays…. I used to polish them once a year and then watch them change colour…..
I really think I would leave yours as is , they look wonderful… xxx
Have a great day… Hugs… Barb xxx
