Hello everyone! Are you having a great week? Are your kids back in school? Is it still really hot where you are? It is still in the 100s here. But I am enjoying it.
Yesterday I got my haircut and I was right by West Elm. Sounds fun, right? I had a great time and was completely inspired. Once I got home, I was browsing through the catalog and remembered the vases that I saw at the store. I like the color and the style, don’t you?
It is so pretty and my style. I headed to the thrift store to find something similar to create a West Elm Inspired Vase.
I found this lovely vase for $1. Once I got home and I was ready to use my Champness Fusion Mineral Paint. If you remember I used this same color on my reloved desk.
I wanted something with more of a basket weave look, but this one spoke to me. And I KNEW it was the ONE. (You know I am being silly, right?)
After 2 coats of paint, I was ready to use my West Elm Inspired Vase as an accessory for our home.
(While I was at the thrift store, I saw this tiny blue vase-NOW, THIS was calling my name!)
The paint accentuates the detail, just as I imagined for a West Elm Inspired Vase.
Now that I think about it. All three of these vessels were purchased at the same thrift store. I love that.
I couldn’t be happier with my West Elm Inspired Vase, and I didn’t need to spend $39-59 on a vase. I spent $1 on the vase and I had the Fusion Mineral Paint already. So for a dollar, it can’t be beat.
This is one of those times, I wanted something quick and cheap for an accessory. AND, I was willing to make it into what I wanted. At some point I could even sand some of the paint off, right?
For now It looks great in our living room. AND, in a few weeks you will see how I can incorporate it into my Fall decor.
BEFORE you leave, be sure to enter to win a chance at 2 Gift Cards from Ginny’s.com. The winner will be announced next Monday, Aug 24th, right here on the blog.
I am now off to start stenciling our living room wall. Hopefully it won’t take too long. BUT, I will be sharing my progress on Instagram, Facebook and Periscope. So be sure to join me there, today.
