Blue and Silver Shimmery Christmas

December 1, 2020 By Meegan 18 Comments

Today’s blog post is part of the Very Merry Christmas Tour hosted by Carrie from Lovely Etc… along with several other bloggers. I will list all of their inspiring Christmas ideas at the end of this post for you to enjoy.

As part of this Christmas Tour I want to share my Blue and Silver Shimmery Christmas decorating ideas.

Using my creative juices and trying to use what I already have, it has been a challenge for me. Not only to come up with something fresh and new, but to go out of my comfort zone of muted soft colors.

Last year my Christmas tree was in the dining room space, but in front of the window. This year I wanted to do something out of the box.

So I set up the tree in front of my newly painted mirror collage in the middle of the dining area wall.

Adding the touches of royal blue, silver and white was actually my husband’s idea. I tend to take over the decorating but for the last couple of years I have asked for his input. It’s been a fun way for us to connect, see each others ideas and creativity.

I am so glad we have done this together. Because I never would have chosen this and I LOVE it. Like I said, it has taken me out of my comfort zone and helped me stretch my creativity.

The vintage Christmas angels like to make an appearance every year in my Christmas décor. They are precious, aren’t they? Especially the kissing angels. So sweet.

Being able to see the Blue and Silver Shimmery Christmas tree in the background is stunning and such a highlight in the dining room space.

This DIY Christmas Cottage with fairy lights is a fun addition to this vignette, as well.

A view from this angle of the tree is one of my favorites this year.

I just love adding a vintage feel to all of my Christmas designs. Like my “new to me” mop bucket on the right and the rustic olive bucket on the left.

Filling them with pillows, doilies, flowers, faux greenery and sparkly blue berries-they tie right in to the colors and shine of the Christmas tree.

I painted branches white from a fallen tree in my apartment complex. Then glued gold Styrofoam balls (like I did here) to ends of the branches for more interest and height.

The silver and blue glitter ribbon (from Hobby Lobby) is absolutely stunning on this tree. It adds just the right amount of color and shimmer to bring this Christmas tree over the top.

Decorating my new rattan pouf was so fun! With a sequin pillow (cover purchased from Amazon), a Boho style pillow and a hand crocheted doily is another way to add sparkle and texture. And, of course the blue wrapping paper makes me smile.

Every year for 43 years my grandma’s handmade ornament, (from my wedding day) has hung on my Christmas tree. No matter the colors or style. THIS ornament is a mainstay.

Without fail, my Vintage Avon Nativity is always a part of my Christmas decorating. I think it is just the right touch to celebrate Christmas and to finish off decorating.

Thank you for joining me on the Very Merry Christmas Tour. I am so happy to have you here.

I hope you will sit back, grab your favorite drink and snack to enjoy ALL of the other beautiful Christmas Tours linked below.

Blue and silver is a fabulous color scheme for your home. I love how the blue and silver ribbon pops on your flocked tree and especially love the ornament that your grandmother made for your first Christmas together as a married couple. It was a pleasure to enjoy every picture that you shared! Have a wonderful Christmas!

You and your hubby make a great team, Meegan. Those colors are perfect and everything just works together. I would be like a little kid in a chocolate factory if you invited me around to your home. I wouldn’t be able to stop staring and touching and dreaming. And that wedding ornament is so special too. What a lovely treasure
