DIY Boho Style Drop Cloth Wreath

May 2, 2021 By Meegan 5 Comments

It’s always fun to make something fresh and inviting for your home. Whether it’s for your front door, to hang in your garden or your bedroom. It’s been awhile since I have made something to welcome guests. I took some time for myself and designed a DIY Boho Style Drop Cloth Wreath.

Once I was finished I knew that you would want the tutorial, too. It’s easy and only took me about an hour and a half.

To make your own DIY Boho Style Wreath you will need:

1-10 inch Styrofoam wreath

2 yards drop cloth fabric

3 types of embellishments IE; 2 types and widths of lace (1 yard each) stringed pom poms (1 yard)

scissors

1 butter knife or screw driver

hot glue gun

hot glue sticks

I bought my 10 inch Styrofoam wreath at Hobby Lobby.

My drop cloth was purchased at Lowe’s. The package had two HUGE drop cloths. I tore about 2 yards of one drop cloth into 51/2 x 1 inch strips.

I wasn’t exact in my measurements. Some strips were 1 1/2 inches wide and some were 6 inches long. Leaving the ragged and torn edges give a Boho or natural look-my favorite.

Each strip was folded in half.

Then using a screw driver (or scissors) I pushed the drop cloth strip into the Styrofoam. Far enough to secure the strip, but NOT all the way through. That would eventually break apart the wreath form. So be careful.

Once the wreath form was filled with drop cloth strips on the front, inside and outside, I filled in empty spaces. This gives a fuller look.

Now it was time for some embellishments. With 4 inch strips of various laces, I folded each one in half and stick in with a screw driver (or use hot glue to attach) like I did with the drop cloth. The small loops of lace add a softness, for more texture and interest.

For pom pom flowers, cut a strip of five pom poms as seen above.

Overlapping the pom pom strip over on itself to essentially foam a flower.

With hot glue, I carefully connected the strip and pom poms together. This should look (kind of) like a flower.

Make as many flowers as you like for your own wreath.

I think the pom poms are my favorite. What about you?

Attaching one of my handmade string tassels was the final touch. It’s like the icing on the cake. And unexpected.

When you design your own Boho drop cloth wreath, use your imagination. Add MORE lace, pom poms or even tassels. It’s up to you and what YOU like. These are all suggestions to get your creativity going.

I hope you have enjoyed following a long as I shared a DIY Boho Style Drop Cloth Wreath. It’s always a pleasure to have you here.

Make it an amazing day.

Oh, that’s lovely, Meegan. Anything with a boho vibe is always a winner in my books and your wreath reminds me of a bedsit I stayed in Paris. It was filled with the most beautiful things that were all so effortlessly eclectic and full of personality. I love it
